there may not be enough room between the video cards and the hdd cage to mount a fan.

check out the scythe kama stay, it allows you to mount fans in all kinds of places.

if picture quality matters, you want plasma over any kind of lcd, at least for consumer-grade use.

sound cards don't put out nearly enough power to drive speakers, you need an amplifier between the speakers and the sound card.

unfortunately you can't control the individual core temps... i lapped my i7-920 pretty hard, and i still have a spread of nearly 10 degrees sometimes.

you can calibrate the realtemp software on the high end, which is supposed to make up some of those differences, but i haven't seen it yet.

you'll get rid of that mb long before the southbridge dies, but you could always try replacing the thermal paste in the meantime, see if it makes a difference.

p183 would be quieter for an htpc, but it's still big for a microatx mb. i have the video cards screwed into the backplane in that pic, but i had to really force 'em in there, the soundcard shows where the screw hole alignment is really at... they could have made the vent hole longer, so that it mat...

what i do is run a vacuum cleaner over the filters, when the floor is getting vacuumed... i used to remove 'em for cleaning, but it got to be too big of a hassle.

not sure what tab on the side panels could get broken, maybe i've just been lucky.

the center fan in the power supply compartment of the p182 will help cool whatever power supply you put in there, but i would try taping off all of the case ventilation holes around the power supply, so that the air gets forced through the power supply, instead of around it. you don't want to go com...

i have overclocked the cr*p out of two msi motherboards, with a third mis board in an htpc... they have all been rock-solid... the last gigabyte mb that i had finally wouldn't load it's overclocking settings, albeit after a lot of abuse. you can't go wrong with more ram, i would pass on the overpric...

I recommend against the TY140.... If I use the fan with air blowing at 90 degrees or above, then the fan makes a very annoying click / scratching sound. This sound gets worse as the degrees increase. Also it gets worse as the speed is reduced. It is really too bad that the problem starts at 90 degr...
