I can see three 120 mm fans competing about the same air. Two 120 mm fans for exhaust, I suppose you have more intake than that 92 mm in the front, perhaps side vents. Why not try to let the back fan blow fresh air in to CPU and PSU and the fron fan suck out some of the heat from the VGA card. I hav...

Well, this gay is guessing that TjMax for my processor (E4400) is 85C so RealTemp shows 27/27C at idle. CoreTemp and CPUID Hardware Monitor are both guessing 100C and accordingly shows 42/42C. I suppose, you will never know the actual core temp for sure, but never mind, they all tell me the same, th...

I have a Corsair HX520, Adda fan replaced with Noctua 120mm. The fancontrol in this PSU only puts out 3.8V, thats enough for the Noctua. I don't know about the 80mm version but SPCR:s recommended list says that starting voltage is 3.0. It's a quiet fan, and (according to Noctua) as reliable as ball ...

It takes very little current to kill you, and at 160v, 500uf will do the job several times over. This is a bit complicated, finally I have done some research: -AC passes through a cap, DC is stopped and charges the cap. -1 Farad cap, loaded with 1V, can discharge 1A for 1 second. -AC is about twice...

Updated CPU-temperatures: Idle - 40C Load - 56C I wasn't aware that SpeedFan reported 15C too low values for the on-core thermal sensors. Perhaps, this new values seem a bit high, but then you must keep in mind, that they come from core sensors, not from some simple thermal diode on the motherboard...

--- Igelkott (Hedgehog). I guess you are from Sweden, why keep it a secret? It works fine in my case, but I never use 300W. Probably no more than 100-150W. At that load and an intake temp of 28C, the PSU fan control never puts out more than 3.8V. Don't expect silence with the Noctua running above 90...

Yes, the S80 is nice looking. In comparision Antec P180 looks like something that was manufactured in former East Europe. However, both are way too big for my taste and needs. Instead, I am very tempted by this one (click on image for more info): http://hem.bredband.net/longjan/Datorbygge2/spc...

Don't give up on Lian Li :( Sometimes I get the feeling that most people around here are kind of brainwashed to think that Antec cases are the only ones that can be used for silent computing. It makes me a bit sad, because there are a lot of other nice cases available. Often better looking  As...

I have a TJ08 with Corsair HX520 and a NEC AD-7170S SATA (suppose it's standard size). It is possible to mount the detachable cables with the DVD in place. However, it's much more easy to connect the cables to the burner from the front, before you put it in, as Rebellious says. Some pictures and imp...

--- wwenze Well, AnandTech seems to think so. Perhaps you haven't read the article. SpeedFan’s other notable flaw is its core temperature readings for Intel’s latest CPUs, which is why we include CoreTemp in this section for now. Since moving away from the simple thermal diode and towards on-cor...

SpeedFan reporting wrong temperatures
I was quite happy with my almost extremely cool C2D 4400, though I had some doubts about the very low temperatures reported by both Asus PC Probe II and SpeedFan. Then I read this at AnandTech In short it says: Intel’s latest CPUs has on-core digital thermal sensors that reports the delta from the...

That stupid idea hit me too, so I tried it out in my last build:
Blue arrows represents cold air, red warm. All temps are fine (VGA,CPU,PSU). Of course, it's a low power system.

I think Noctua NH-U9F is a very nice cooler. Ideal for a mATX board (or any board). Easy and secure mounting. Size 95x95mm with fan. It cools my C2D 4400 very, very good and inaudible with supplied fan running at 5V. However, I am afraid your CPU draws alot more power so I don't know... You can read...

--- MarcoM Thanks for the kind words. --- SHare I can assure you that plenty of hot air is escaping through the front fan. I sometimes use it to warm my cold feets. I don't think any air is escaping through the upper front, since air pressure in the case is negative. But you are right, there is not ...

Since I have a slow spinning fan in the powersupply, I tried to keep as much hot air as possible away from it. With this setup, the coolest spot in the case is around the PSU intake. Almost all hot air from VGA and some from CPU is exhausted by the front fan. As a bonus I got a very cool VGA card th...

Yes and No!
I have mounted it on Asus 8600GT. However there is a minor issue.
Perhaps this can be to some help
(go through the document if this link doesn't hit vga-section)
I can recommend that cooler. It's very effective and quiet at 5V. My card never goes above 55C.

Mee too. However, by default, Vista runs a defrag once a week. I never noticed then it was running, perhaps that's the progress. It is in line with Windows philosophy: You shall know nothing, you shall not have preferences of your own, just let Uncle Microsoft take care of everything. This UAC for e...
