Buy and core 2 and under volt it? Shouldn't price factor in as well? Will you save more buying mobile variants even though the desktop ones will have more power usage?

And a side note x264 > divX or AVC > ASP (for general cases).

Given a peltier of adequate power(?), the component to be cooled can maintain temperatures below ambient. Exhaust heat may be an issue, but it will cool better (at least in certain parts of the system). People rarely use peltiers on CPU's these days because you'd need a rather large one to be able t...

Peltier's can be used to generate electricity as well and have been around for ages, but I've yet to seen one used for that purpose (I don't think they're internally reversible anyway). I don't see the difference between a peltier and this "Thermal chip." Waste heat recovery sounds rather attractive...

Seeing as the thermal conductivity of iron is 72 W/mC while Al's is 220 W/mC and 386 W/mC for Cu, perhaps you'd be better off with a passive transmission cooler (Al).

But I suppose it's massive size makes up for a lot.

You could place dry ice in water, but make sure to have the windows open, or some very good airflow (even for plain dry ice). I believe what you're seeing with dry ice is actually water condensing nearby, it may not be the best thing to use, but your parts probably run hot enough to withstand some h...

Any timeouts were very short (refreshing almost always remedied this).

Sounds like a plan to me, even though I'm doing better then I usually do.

But what if something that will be continued is borked? I don't see a reason in tanking the round for that. Just stall it untill he finishes.

Turns started turning again yesterday according to the analyst report.
