2) I'm somewhat hard pressed to say a 2 door has less flex than a 4 door. For exotic sports cars, they have a frame designed to soak up the power of whatever behemoth is powering it, however a 4 door sports car (I'm at a lack for examples, so I'll just say beemers and audi's) they have that B pilla...

So you might step into the street and directly in front of a bicycle. The only sensible thing to do is only rely on your eyes and so never step into the street without looking! Hey lm, this world you live in, where humans don't make mistakes... where can I sign up? Any small 4 door with a respectab...

what kind of cpu are you trying to cool and are you worried about noise? What is the most economical quiet CPU cooling device? ;) Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B, as mentioned, is a great choice. Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus is also an option. If size is an issue, a Big Shiruken would work well. Depending on ...

Googled it and yeah, looks very similar.

Would be interesting to see an SPCR review of this style heatsink to see if the 'big single' heatpipe works in practice.

Shiruken or other HS blowing upwards?
Has anyone tried using a Shiruken or other low-profile largish cooler in a desktop/HTPC case with the fan blowing upwards? How did it go?

Ditching stock GPU fan and running 120mm?
Just wondering if anyone has tried ditching the stock GPU fan on their card, and rigging up a 120mm fan in place on the stock cooler?
I have a HD5770 but aftermarket coolers are thin on the ground.
Any before/after temp comparisons, subjective noise comparisons, pictures, would be awesome.

Could a Seasonic X-400 run a overclocked Core i7 and a single GTX 480 in a Silverstone FT02? A core I7 can have anywhere from 18 to 130W TDP (depending on which i7 you mean), so the answer I guess would be "depends", given that the GTX 480 has a TDP of 250W. Assuming you're going fairly hardcore (i...

Great review. If scythe had put a flat base on the Ninja 3, *or* had used a bolt-through system for the Yasya, I'd be rushing out to buy one at the first opportunity. I really have to question their choice for pushpin design sometimes. Especially when they have already done a bolt through system bef...

The important thing for you is to look at the efficiency around the lower loads (20%). There's a table here http://www.silentpcreview.com/Enermax_Modu87_500W that shows the requirements. You'll have to look at how important having the extra 2-5% is, given how much extra a gold/silver/bronze PSU may ...

Excellent replies, I think I'd be wise to actually backup, and leave RAID well enough alone. It seems the 'cons' outweigh the minor 'pros' for my usage. My 'critical' data (wedding pics, movies of bubba) and so on is around 80gb so far, so may have to look at investing in a blu-ray burner. Will mean...

RAID questions
Hi, I have a few questions about RAID. I've done some reading but lots of the guides go into the 'nitty gritty' and I'm just not ready for that level yet. I have 4 types of data I keep. 1. Critical - Wedding photos, honeymoon photos etc. Really want this reliable - so error correction and backup sho...

To be honest I think the fact that the GTS250 is 55nm, compared with the ATI 57xx's 40nm, means you're always going to fight harder to cool the card quietly. GTS250 is quoted at 145w TDP, according to Wikipedia. 5750 quoted at 16w/86w TDP (idle/load) 5770 quoted at 18/108w 57xx has GDDR5, GTS250 has...

I might do tests in the future. Right now I simply would like to know what it is I'm feeling. Is it EMF's, UHF's, light waves, radio waves, heat waves, etc. etc.? To know what you are feeling, you need to know how you are feeling. Pyschosomatically, or physically. I'd say its 50/50 chance either wa...

Great setup for testing HS fans, I likely. I would add to the comment that testing @ 12v, 7v, 5v has its advantages. (Even 6v, for those that wire two fans in series). To me it seems easier for a home user to set a fan to run at a specific voltage, than to get it to run at a specific RPM. I think yo...

If you don't plan to overclock, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus would be my pick for those who are worried about A) board bending, or B) their budget.
