I'd also like to point out that you don't have to be all that neat about things. On my Thermalright heatsink, I first used an adhesive type putty to attach my Nexus fan. But, that lost cohesion with the heat. So, I just ran some wire through the holes in the fan and looped it around convenient place...

I'm no expert on silencing, but I'm really wondering about the location of the power supply. It's in the same compartment with everything else, but is underneath the hard drives? Won't any radiated heat from the power supply rise into the hard drive area? Also, I don't understand the utility of a ba...

$500!!! For a CASE! Are they aware that it's possible to build an ENTIRE HTPC for just about the price of their case, alone? I was doing some research on HTPC cases and came across this review. I didn't pay attention to the price until I went to Newegg to see if they carried it. Yikes! That's too e...

Just to make sure, is the 800 RPM model the SY1225SL12L ? As far as I can see, the model numbers ending in: - SH are 1900 RPM, - H are 1600 RPM, - M are 1200 RPM, - L are 800 RPM, and - SL are 500 RPM. Also, would this fan be better as a CPU cooler fan or as a case exhaust fan (or equally adept at b...

If you go to their Comparison Sheet page , there are two ways of searching in their Comparison Sheet Search box. The bottom option will let you narrow things down a bit. For instance, next to "Type:," if you select "Socket 775" in the "By Socket" box and "Intel P35" in the "By Chipset" box, then che...

On the Newegg site for the MFC1 Plus, there are now a couple of user reviews. According to the reviews there, the LEDs are "blue when fans are low, red when fans are high" and "the LED changes from blue to red at an increased fan setting however, they change to red at about only 1/4 the max rotation."

Newegg's got the ZM-MFC1 Plus in. Still no MFC2, and Druneau's got me torn between the two .
enzo-450: I still haven't seen a shot of this thing with the LEDs lit up. So, I have no idea what color they are. Have you tried an email to Zalman?

Anandtech is one of my regular reads. But, I'm beginning to wonder about them. Recently, they've made several weird decisions about how they test that render their results invalid. For instance, 1) they test their power supplies inside a sealed case with no thought for heat evacuation, and 2) they t...

You could also contact Logitech and see if they carry a set of replacement keys. The old ones probably just pop right off and new ones, if they exist, can be pushed right back on. I know I've seen several threads about worn out key lettering on Logitech's forums. But, I've never read those threads a...

that cables C1 have a cable which can be plugged in the motherboard header so that the computer can monitor the RPM's. That makes sense. If the Zalman fan controller just took over something like the CPU fan without passing the info back to the motherboard, the motherboard fan alarm would go off (a...

Reviews of ZM-MFC1 Plus?
Has anyone seen any actual reviews of Zalman's ZM-MFC1 Plus fan controller? From their web page, it looks nice enough. But, I have no idea if it works as well as it looks. Also, I don't quite know what to make of the specs. Under "RPM Sensing," Zalman's site says "Active RPM Sensing (All 6 Channels)...
