I'd also like to point out that you don't have to be all that neat about things. On my Thermalright heatsink, I first used an adhesive type putty to attach my Nexus fan. But, that lost cohesion with the heat. So, I just ran some wire through the holes in the fan and looped it around convenient place...

Control Case Fan w/ CPU Fan Header?

I'll be putting together a computer shortly. It'll contain the following items relevant to this question: - Case: Antec Solo - Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4 - CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - Heatsink: Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme I'm planning to replace the Antec TriCool case fan with a Scythe K...

I'm pretty sure the original deal was for the Solo at $89.99 with an instant $10 off plus a $50 mail-in rebate giving a net price of $29.99. After they went out of stock the first time, they bumped the list price up $10 giving a net price of $39.99.

I'm no expert on silencing, but I'm really wondering about the location of the power supply. It's in the same compartment with everything else, but is underneath the hard drives? Won't any radiated heat from the power supply rise into the hard drive area? Also, I don't understand the utility of a ba...

And if you go to the nVidia forums and try to ask why they haven't released any drivers for over four months, all you get is grief from the forum regulars. I haven't found anything anywhere that explains why nVidia seems to have stopped releasing official drivers.

If you go to their Comparison Sheet page , there are two ways of searching in their Comparison Sheet Search box. The bottom option will let you narrow things down a bit. For instance, next to "Type:," if you select "Socket 775" in the "By Socket" box and "Intel P35" in the "By Chipset" box, then che...

On the Newegg site for the MFC1 Plus, there are now a couple of user reviews. According to the reviews there, the LEDs are "blue when fans are low, red when fans are high" and "the LED changes from blue to red at an increased fan setting however, they change to red at about only 1/4 the max rotation."

I emailed Newegg customer service and asked if they had any plans to stock the ZM-MFC1 Plus or ZM-MFC2. Their response was basically to check back in a couple of weeks (not an implication that it's on the way -- more an implication that they didn't know).

that cables C1 have a cable which can be plugged in the motherboard header so that the computer can monitor the RPM's. That makes sense. If the Zalman fan controller just took over something like the CPU fan without passing the info back to the motherboard, the motherboard fan alarm would go off (a...

Has anyone seen any actual reviews of Zalman's ZM-MFC1 Plus fan controller? From their web page, it looks nice enough. But, I have no idea if it works as well as it looks.
