As I and many other people already expected, nothing new really. Just a low voltage version of an existing product combined with a load of marketing. Not that that is bad, but don't expect this to suddenly be as popular as Centino/Sonoma. So in most shops you'll probable still won't find AMD powere...

Re: Have a 140mm papst 6424. Can I use it?

Hi ! I just want to correct sthayahi ; when you use half the voltage, the consumption drops to 1/4 of the original, about 6.5W. It's because of the rule of Ohm, U=RI. If U is the half, R is constant, I must be the half too. And the formula for the power is P=UI, so, half of the original U multiplic...

El Jefe - You're NOT READING !!!! The problem with double sided mem sticks & CnQ is a s754 AMD problem and you'll face it with ANY manufacturer. For the record, my sig has that board running on 2x512 Twinmos Twister cheap ram but I changed it it's now running with 2x512 OCZ ram. So yes, it does run...

well, any product that claims cool n quiet and yet cant do it, deserves a bash, and most importantly, if it is Abit. People all too often, like myself, fall in love with a company, I shouldnt have. The tech from Abit told me that with two sticks it will often not work correctly. Keep in mind that th...

Cool 'n Quiet Mobo List in error, sadly :(

I have a KV8 Pro with a 130 nm 3000+ a64 chip on it. It is the basis for all amd goodness in the universe, can clock it up, accepts all things, was a cheap solution when 939 was still comming out under crappy MSI bios's. Now its a bit dated for 939'rs of course. However, I believed in it like a dog ...

Of course, we haven't heard what AMDs numbers will be... amdzone is saying they will have 2.4ghz dual core parts. I'm guessing 110 for these easy. I'm waiting to hear though - I want to do an upgrade and my big programs (photoshop, SAS) are definitely helped by dual cores, so we'll see.. I see no r...

I got the melamine tile idea from the architect downstairs when I probed him for possible sources of melamine foam. He said they used it on floors to significantly reduce clicking noise produced by sharp womens heels. Might be just your thing. From his description I imagined normal floor tiles, har...

Well, this page explains it ALL. http://www.soundproofing.org/ Very different ideas here, ones where you trap sound, not change it. Says carpeting blocks none of the sounds that are irritating, of course a carpeted room doesnt AMPLIFY sound that leaks, but it does leak more than one thinks. I sugges...

I have one, bottom pci ...

I remember reading about the SPCR PSU test box having an exhaust fan added - for the Fortron reviewed , at least, the results showed that fan speed & volume rose with a back exhaust - clearly the extra pressure isn't good for bottom-fan PSUs. Turning the fan round to be an intake was similar to hav...

I think that it is possible that the phantom would work best in a water cooled case that also has that million-holed look to it (Lian-Li) with one fan in it on 5 volts just to avoid stagnant air, like that puny 120 nexus fan at 5 volts, just something t flow the air around the case, not even exhaust...

No problem. Only one way to find out if it works, but I also understand that not everyone is willing to spend $110+ on a component that may or may not actually be compatible with your hardware. :) For anybody else who wants to take the chance, though, please be sure to post yours results. Welcome to SPCR!! Sounds like to have a RevA2 Seasonic (I have them, too. Really annoying), and a case with restricted air intake. I noticed that my SuperTornados don't like working against even moderate backpressure at all. wow well you kinda figured out all my problems thanx. i guess i need to di...

Those random up and down-rampings that you describe is what the rev.A2 was affected with. You can find out how to determine what revision you have in this article . that chip, is a DTR, i think they go slower as a rule even for its clockspeed, and also notice its 256KB cache, thats like not happening in my computer.

im looking forward to getting a meg cache upgrading from this 512K !!

it could be silent yes, but it might not work as well
