I have a 9800 pro w/ a Zalman fanless HS on it. The space is very tight. Depending on what you want to put there, it might not fit. Low profile cards might be OK such as NIC card.

I also cutted out a big slot on the side of the PS and seal up all the other holes. i will be opening up the case where the PS slot is so it can get cool air from the outside. As of now, the ps fan doesn't speed up even after 12 hours o...

I don't remember from where, but I read about someone putting a fan on the bottom and than switch to the one on top. The cooling was better with the fan on the backside (top) heatsink. The card was vertical and not horzontial like you had it.

I'm pretty sure one can improve heat transfer by adding more heatpipe. I believe two more would work will for what is out there now. Also Fmah was right about anodizing the Al heatsink. I read an article a while back that anodizing Al improves heat radiation.

Will F@H client use all available processors on a system?

I have a dual celeron doing nothing. I'm thinking about running F@H on it. Will the F@H client use both processor or just use one of it? If it just use one, can I just run the client twice and assign each processor a client to run?

I have used Dells and IBMs. I currently have the IBM T23 but I like my Dell Latitude better. The reason is that the Dell have a Windows key and it had the option of using the touch pad or that little touchpoint or whatever IBM calls it. They both are feature rich, so you can't really go wrong either...

There was an artical in overclockers.com that have passive water cooling. The guy use copper pipes attached to the outside of the case. Also, I read an article (overclockers.com?) about a guy running copper pipes in the garage as the radiator and used pvc pipes into his computer case.

42 C safe for HD?

I have a maxtor and WD HD 7200 RPM drives. The maxtor is running at 42C idle. Is that a safe temp? I have heard a lot of people said they are in the mid 30C. I haven't check out the load temp yet.

I'm sorry, but there are just too many variables involved to assign an effect of 1 or 2 degrees to a specific change. You could see a 5 degree change in temp from one test to another without changing anything. For that matter, if 5 degrees is important to your cooling setup you need a complete rede...

I am, however, very curious as to how one of our intrepid cohorts can say with such athority that it would give you 1 or 2 degrees improvment, or that it would be worse by 5 degrees or so in "suck" mode. That's right! Even if you don't have that option in your motherboard. You can mod the pins in the CPU.
