Why go into the seatools program? Ever heard of partitioning? That way you can still get all of the space you paid for too! Admittedly software like hddscan will see past that and benchmark across the entire physical hdd so the random access times in the report will still be quite high. Another way ...

I know what you are saying (it is an obvious point and I already realised that :)) but for OCD people like myself it would be a nice thing to have. But it doesn't actually matter whether the AMD or Intel draws more power in and of itself, since you can't use either without a MB and you can't use exa...

Sorry to bump this up from the dead, but I have to ask, why not test using a clamp meter over the 12v line going to the cpu. Virtually every motherboard with a P4 power connector (4pin or 8pin) will get it's power for the cpu through that power connector and nowhere else. While a test like this obvi...

I still haven't made up my decision about what the permanent power supply will be in that pc yet. Anyway, the computer emits quite a loud squeal, especially whe...

I just purchased an 850w yesterday after my Zippy PSL6701 (modded with a quiet fan) blew up at a Lan due to dodgy power grounding that killed a few other pc's :( Anyway, the 850w has gone into a system with interesting specs, it has 14x Samsung 750gb hdd's, 2x seagate 80gb 7200.9, 1x Seagate 7200.12...

Laptop Hard Drive roundup?
I sent an email to Mike a few weeks ago and I didn't get a reply, it most likely disappeared into a spam account. Anyway, I was thinking that there are a number of 5400 and even a few 7200rpm 500gb laptop drives now available that it would be a good time to round them up. SPCR is about the only site...
