My card arrived yesterday. At windows desktop the GPU has around 40 degree celcius (according to CPUID HWmonitor), but I haven't found time to test it under load, nor to install a duct. Case is a Rebel 9 with one 140mm (~750rpm) and one 120mm (~800rpm) intake fan, no exhaust, but I removed the neigh...

With what programme did you record the temperature values? There are huge differences between speedfan/core temp and HWmonitor. The former always state my idle temp to be around 24, while the latter states 40 degrees celcius.

The Sonata III is roughly the same price as the Sonata Designer. Afaik, the latter has the same interior design as the Solo, comes with an Antec Earthwatts 500W and a chique white-ish design. I personally think the PSU is over-dimensioned for run-of-the-mill systems.

Abit iP35 dark raider and the molex connector

Aloha, My motherboard has an additional molex connector, which according to the manual devotes additional power to the PCIe connectors. The plug is in a really moronic position on the board - south-west to the CPU socket. It is quite a pain connecting a molex plug there and since my graphics card is...

Hi PSU ducting experts, I'm trying to optimise my system ( discreet link *click* ) and one plan is to move the HDD into the PSU sucting stream in the middle of a ducting leading to the front mesh of the case. However, my PSU (Enermax Pro82+ 385W) hardly expells any air right now (at the back). The f...

3 1/2" mini-disc drives were very popular at a time. A shame they didn't become mainstream.

*bump*

Anyone who tried the HDD in PSU ducting?

Is it better to have the fans closer to the mesh-front?

I know the case is not ideal for THE quiet PC, but it was cheap and has good features for a price of £25.

You could experiment with ducting. Have you checked the temperatures with a fan as well, to confirm a neat seating of the heatsink?

Re: Case, motherboard and power supply for an E8400 build?

- I do not plan to over clock, but I'd like the motherboard to support a 4:3 ratio to be able to run the memory at 1000 with the E8400 1333 FSB. Even in 4:3 mode the RAM would "only" run at 888Mhz. I doubt you would realise a difference to the synchronous (1:1) mode without using artificial benchma...

Quest: Optimise a Rebel9 system

Hi SPCR community, I've been lurking around for some time, reading articles and dropping the occasional comment. In hind-sight, I should have taken a closer look into fan recommendations and control. Oh well, well, well. My system components: Case: Rebel 9 economy (the one without the enourmous side...

There's plenty of space for the Ninja on the IP35. I have a Mine sitting on the CPU, which has a similarly big base-plate. There is enough clearing to the electric stuff (I suspect condensators, but don't quote me on that) around the socket. The dark raider is a good board, but either my version is ...

I would like to see how this compares to the 1TB model as I want to get one.

Forget about the Rebel9 if you want to suspend 9 drives. It sitting under my desk and even though it isn't tiny, it is still far too small for your plans. The Rebel12 seems to be good value for money though. It also accepts 140mm fans and one can buy another movable mounting frame for the front of t...

Can you post some temperature values?
