The only PSU from the new Seasonic X series I can find is the X-460. Do you think it would be safe for this system (with one or two case fans)? As I know, X-560/660/760 are not available on market. I don't know whether the fanless model is safe for you. Since you are using P18X case which has a sep...

Hah, funny misspelling. I assumed that since the PSU was designed for the p183 and similar cases that it would perform better. Now that I'm checking out the X-650, reviews seem to be saying that there are newer/better Seasonic PSUs (X-750 etc). How about it? Oh, and the HR-02 doesn't come with a du...

Re: How would you improve on Pudget's Serenity i7?
Hey guys, I'm building a new box and read the Pudget Serenity i7 article on SPCR ( http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1052-page1.html ) - and it is almost exactly what I'm building (minus the HDD, I'm only putting an SSD in it). What would you change about the Pudget system? Probably a different ...

Great review and great product! I'm wondering how I can fit it into my Solo case, what's the air flow for traditional ATX case. Should I reverse it? I'd personally start with the recommended position, and if the PSU seems super hot (like >60C at the back all the time), then try it the other way. On...

Re: Corsair AX850 noise?
Does anyone know how quiet the Corsair AX850 PSUs are? I'm looking to replace my Seasonic S12 Energy Plus 650W for a new build, and can't wait for the X-850. I'd like the system to be pretty quiet. I'll be reusing my P182 but changing all the case fans for Scythe Slipstream 1200rpm and a Scythe S-F...

One problem is that the distance between heatsink and the rear fan is not constant, and the distance is very critical for "passive" cooling effect. For LGA775, it's very close. Though named as "passive", it can be regarded as rear-mounted fan. That's why we see such excellent result for QX9650 (ther...

Instead of these not well cooled cards, many silencers pay more attentions to PowerColor's Green Series in recent months. Weak right side panel of Antec Solo
I'm newly to this case and it's really a pleasant experience to install particles into it. Comparing with my previous RC-534, the internal features are very good designs and easy to use. One issue is that the right side panel (without thumbscrew) is not as sturdy as the left one. For the left side p...

How about using a Prolima Megahalems with 800rpm constant rate fan? - I'm really interested in the net effe...

I've read on pcworld.fr they don't come out before August and the launch price for the 400w will be 160$ :? If it launches at this price, I'd like to say it's pretty attracting to me (considering the price of Silverstone ST45NF). Though X-650 may be more cost-effective, for silencers' typical load ...

How to use 2cm longer PSU in NSK3480
The recent extremely quiet PSUs such like Enermax Modu87+ and Seasonic X-series have larger depth (Height.Width.Depth: 86mmx150mmx160mm) than standard/stock size (86mmx150mmx140mm), while a major restriction of NSK3480 is the short distance between PSU and optical drive. If I'm going to use longer P...

I agree with you on this. Recent days I'm thinking that for a fanless PSU, whether the traditional case (such like Antec Solo) mounting PSU on top is more suitable or not, comparing with the advanced P18X (or those case mounting PSU at bottom) with independent air flow for PSU. For traditional layou...

If a P18X with separate chamber for PSU can't work, then which case can? It's interesting that from the unclear pictures, we didn't see huge heat sink inside, just somewhat similar with X-650 which has almost none heat sink. I'm very interesting that even with 90% efficiency, the 40~45W heat is gene...

Generally Mini P180 is regarded as better cooling performance comparing with P18X, due to its 20cm top fan. Even with a passive heat sink, the top fan can cool a moderate 65W CPU well. The problem is that the top fan's noise is loud even in lowest speed (400rpm, ~23dB) and there is no other replacem...

It's a new released aluminum case which looks suitable for a silent PC (e.g. decent appearance, very few vents, independent PSU airflow, noise reduction foam, etc.). It's interesting that there is an air flow duct for rear fan (angle adjustable, with noise reduction foam), this is the first time I s...

I don't think it's possible to passively cool all components without a fan, unless you place them in open air. Either HR01-PLUS or Ninja 2 is a pretty good choice, another somewhat aggressive choice is Scythe Orochi, which is very huge and heavy. I read some reviews about it before, an Orochi on E84...
