Where the difference is greater is in overall airflow -- even a wire grill imposes a ~20% reduction in airflow. I find that very hard to believe. From a stamped grill like the one on the back of the P150 i.e. perhaps, but from a wire grill? Really??? I'd accept a ~5% reduction without proof, but 20...

Any info on Silverstone TJ08?
Apparently they'll have a mATX case in their line-up. With dual 120mm fans
Anyone here having more info? It'll be a great surf-PC i hope.
World debut of Temjin TJ08 Micro-ATX tower
case featuring dual 120mm fans

Using heatsinks as deflectors in S12?
Would it be possible, and mainly functional, to slightly twist the tips of the heatsinks in the Seasonic S12 series as to direct the airflow to the back of the PSU? Would it reduce backpressure without decreasing cooling? Hope you know what i mean. I don't have a S12 to try it myself. Nor the testin...

Re: P180 done my way :-)
Plan on replacing these with Nexus or similar due to the fact that they won't even spin up on less than 7.5V @ 960RPM. If anyone knows of a good quiet 120MM that runs smoothly on 6V, let me know. Single 120MM fan cooling hard drive and PSU in bottom chamber. Running at 5V and extremely quiet. This ...

I have mCubed's version. I have a Seagate 7200.7 160GB (i think) in it. I still hear idle noise and seek noice. It dampens idle noise most. Not much seek noise. Temp is pretty good. I've had Nexus Disk Twins too but i wasn't at all impressed. In fact my old Seagate 7200.IV 80GB is quieter than all o...

It has stopped on me too while i was away. All in all quite a few times now. I'm glad i stopped controlling the PSU fan. I realised the problem was the T-Balancer when i touched the PC and it was really warm. And now i won't trust automatic software controlled fans. Unfortunately. Only pots for me f...

I have the Zalman, som issues are: - Only goes down to 50 % i.e. 6 V - Knob only effective in two-thirds of the angle, i.e. first third all give 12 V (this due to resistor values around the 7815 voltage regulator are 600 for the 'steady' and 900 for the pot - go figure). - Blue leds indicate fan mo...

Which fan control?
I'm having some bad experience with the mCubed T-Balancer dying on me and shutting down my PC due to overheating. So i'm planning on getting a manually controlled controler. Too bad really, since the whole idea of automatically control fans is genious. But mine isn't fail safe at all. Questi...

[Arctic] Cooling has New?? 120/92 mm fans. Any good?
Just noticed at their website that they have other fans than their usual 80mm.
They seem to be fairly quiet and very reasonably priced at 7.99$/4.99€ for the 120mm and with 6!!! Years warranty.
Anyone here with experience of them? Are they just a branded version?

I don't have the time to read so much text atm :o But i swapped the fan in my Fortron 350 to a Coolermaster fan that came with my Stacker case. It's soo quiet now and the only thing i hear is my HDD. It's not a powerful system though. Only a P4 @ 2.4GHz w a XP120. I have no idea how it sounded with ...

No offence taken at all :D 15mm vs 25mm is also a space issue. The 25mm takes up an extra PCI-slot. And maybe the layout of the fins means that they're optimised for airflow from a 15mm fan. I'm just taking a guess here. But i went from a 25mm Nexus to a 15mm Panaflo and i think they have similar cf...

However, there aren't any temperature/noise measurements, before and after the fan swap, that I know of. Which seems kinda weird! Sorry. It's cooler and quieter. Not much cooler, only a few degrees, and only noticable quieter. I don't remember how much now, and can't check it atm since i'm in the m...
