Green housing?

Does anyone know of a site that has plans (or like-minded individuals scheming plans) for efficient, ecologically friendly housing design?

I think for the most part we're pretty much on the same page. We're just arguing details. However, I do think you're reading more into my words than is actually there. Funny, I felt the same way about your first post :P This is simply untrue. Newtonian physics are not considered "correct". They are...

Re: What about the other side of the global warming issue?

Take, for example, the subject of evolution. There is absolutely zero legitimate scientific debate that is questioning whether or not evolution exists. Zero. <snip> The scientific community as a whole thinks of evolutionary nay-sayers so poorly that few credible scientists would even remotely consi...

I would go as far as to say that the writer of that "Guardian" article got most of his information off of a pissed friend he met in a pub and jotted it down on the back of a fag packet - he obviously never watched the programme. The debunking has been debunked and is now classified as bunk. I'd say...

Re: What about the other side of the global warming issue?

In the last thread I was accused of not thinking for myself and I was simply "a victim of the obfuscation campaign (by the white house and others) that caused 53% of journalists to write in the last few years that there's much scientific confusion about global warming, its causes and its effects." ...

I was thinking of trying to make some money on the side by building systems for people. Advertising in the paper ect. But can I get in trouble if I dont have any type of certification or license, or is it perfectly legal? I don't think you can get in trouble with the law. That being said, building ...

I remember there used to be an app under Win32 and X Windows (xwininfo) that'll allow you to click a window and it'll tell you which application it belongs to - anyone know of anything like that that'll work under Vista? Pretty interesting, I was wondering how much (or little seems more accurate) power the Wii uses. It's unfortunate the Wii doesn't support DVD playback. It'd definitely be much more efficient (and probably quieter) than using the 360 or PS3 for this task. I guess a standalone DVD player would work a...

By SPCR standards the Wii is not quiet, especially since its fan(s?) are all over the tiny leafblower variety, but compared to the 360, it's whisper-quiet. ...that's....weird. Given the ridiculously modest power consumption of the Wii (I was truly amazed: less than 20W is impressive), one would thi...

3.5%, 4.1% that only tells you about performance under load - it doesn't take into account how the computer is used. That's why I said, percentages are useless for without the proper context. Actually, it does. I think you're misinterpreting the link. It has a wide set of different benchmarks. 3.5%...

Actually scanner drivers may be an exceptional issue in Vista. The reports I read: "Epson 1240U scanner no longer supported by native drivers or Epson... Gotta love percentages, the numbers are meaningless in and of itself. We need to put it in context. It is in context. Over an average of a number of different benchmarks, the extra cache is going to give a performance boost of about 3.5%. Removing games from the benchmarks bumps that up to 4.1%. Th...

eh the analysis used lots of games that never use cache as examples. THey never needed cache, and ruin the "average". You definitely don't need a Seasonic S12-430; I doubt this system could break 150W at load. I'd go with the S12-330 myself. That'll save $40. Hmm, might be worth considering.
