Re: Define C: 120mm vs 140mm intake

You remove the hatch and move the drive cage to the rearward location.
Then the airflow will blow onto the drive cage and be deflected upwards.
The exhaust fans help steering the flow from there.

... This is why I take exception to cheap coffee lake boards which have a sustained power delivery cap of 65 watts (and yes some do): they might be fine for "every day" use, but they cannot supply even an 8400 with enough juice to sustain an esoteric load to the best the CPU is capable of. How much heat do a couple of HDDs produce compared with a CPU + GPU? Is allocating nearly one third of your air intake to cooling them effective use of your fans' output? Re: PWM fans are worth it

I'd rather suggest: Go with what your fan controller can handle! If you use the motherboard to handle the fan speed, as is increasingly common, it's the fan headers and UEFI on the mobo that define what type(s) of fan to use. If the controller only support voltage control for a case fan then use a f...

I think you'll need to adjust the shroud at the bottom to fit three fans at the front. I got a Define C for my kid and needed more than the stock ventilation. One can also be very knit-picky and point out that heat pipe is a form of water cooling, so all of the recommended coolers are in fact water coolers!
What makes them better than the AIO variety is that the water loops are driven by thermal dynamics instead of a mechanical pump.

The Alpine AM4 Passive is, as the name imply, a passive cooler for Socket AM4 (only).

Overclocking will increase the power consumption. Question is what performance you want? All cores or single core? Overclocking the 2600 (all cores) to 3.7 GHz probably won't reach 95W, but will also give you less performance (than 2600X) when fewer cores are utilised. You get the best efficiency by...

You most probably can't boot your computer through the network port. What kind(s) of RAID can be used is up to the specific NAS.
