Btw as a modder,my initial impression with that case was "hack the rear holes to plant another 60mm fan next to previous one-then go 5V", but then I realize it would be redundant to use dual 60mm exhaust  I actually thinking about that as well. Running 2 dual fan at 5v since the SilenX is pre...

and no extra stuff! This is for a HTPC. I'd like to have 1. Black color, brushed aluminum prefered 2. Read/write Compact Flash and SD cards 3. 2-channel fan controller (CPU and case) 4. No other ports or any LCD display. My case already have front connector for audio, USB and firewire. It would look...

60mm fan recommendation (for 12v)
Hi, I have the case Cooler master ATC-620 and it came with SilenX 60mm fan which is very loud. I'd like to replace it with other quieter fan without sacrificing too much CFM. I don't have speed controller channel available and I would prefer to run it at 12v (or 5v, don't want 7v coz it might be too...

HDD temperature in SmartDrive 2002? Almost 50c on 7200.7+
Is that normal? Running Seagate 7200.7 Plus 160GB PATA in SmartDrive 2002 Aluminum version. Start out very cool (25c) but temp slowly increase to 48c in an hour and seem to be incresing. Not doing anything HDD intensive that much, mostly Internet browsing.....

Silencing HDD in tight case.... in 5.25" bay??
Hi. I'm trying to quiet down the drive (7200.7 160GB PATA). Got Coolermaster CoolDrive 6 but doesn't help much. I'm using small desktop case, CoolerMaster ATC-620. I'm more concern about idle whining noise than the seek noise. I did briefly try on suspension the drive but doesn't help much on whine....

Calling Gigabyte 6600 silentpipe owners:How tall is yr card?
I'm trying to find the the height of the card. Just wanna check if it will fit in my case or not (Cooler master ATC-620, kinda short).
BTW, how's your GPU temp anyway? idle and loaded.

Do you think I can get away with the GeForce 6600?? It sits next to the exhaust fan.

Passive VGA cooler that doesn't add up height?
I have this eVGA card; http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=128-P2-N366-TX The stock fan is extremely noisy. Any recommendation for passive air cooler that doesn't add up height? I'll run it in Cooler Master ATC-620 case which is quite short. Thinking of something like this; http://www.therm...

My card does not have thermal sensor built-in or maybe it's disabled for reading from nVidia monitor. (pretty sure they must have something to check against that max temp somewhere). Still, want it to get a little cooler. While 100c should be fine for many GPU, but that does heat up the case a lot. ...

I heard differently that nVidia is better on TV :) Anyway, I don't quote me on this. I don't think it will be much different or you could notice it though. IMHO, you should choose card that has HDTV ready and relatively low power consumption. Passive card is fine but it would run quite a bit hotter....

Passive 6600 Tempurature? Too hot too touch?
Got my XFX passively cooled GeForce 6600 today (non-GT). Try running it on my office machine (Dell 4700 w/ P4 3.4GHz w/ 1GB RAM). After running for an hour of only office programs without no intensive 3D application, the heatsink get pretty hot. I don't have the temperature probe but I can't put the...

Zalman 7700: Who did fan replacement? Happy afterward?
Hi, Like many people here, I'm not so happy with the noise of the 7700 at full speed. I did re-assemble the Zalman and it look like very easy to replace the fan. I believe many of us here have replaced the fan with the quieter fan. Are you happy with the noise and temperature after fan replcement? P...

Found one problem. The stock Zalman back plate, which is plastic, does bend together with my mobo when I tighten the screw. If you imagine, this would make the contact much less perfect... I reinstall the Zalman with stock backplate with some mod. Got the temp down a few degree when idle and loaded....

XFX vs Gigabyte: Passive 6600 card?
Hi all, I'm thinking of swapping the eVGA 128MB GeForce 6600 out (VERY loud fan). I do not have much room to do many mod (arctic cooling silencer won't work. Need PCI slot!). So, I narrow down my choice to these two cards. Both has passive cooling and GeForce 6600. I don't do intensive gaming so 660...

CPU temp from Foxconn NF4K8MC-RS over report? Venice 3200+
How the CPU temp got report? Where's the sensor? built-in to the CPU? I'm running Venice 3200+ stock speed on Mine seem to over report the temp for both system and CPU core temp. This morning (cold), I did a cold boot from 6+ hr sleep. Right after boot into XP, the nVidia Monitor report 44-45c for C...

Zalman 7700 AlCu installation problem. 55 degree idle???
Hi, Not sure if it seat correctly. I could manually turn the heatsink clockwise/counter clockwise a little bit  . Running on Foxconn mATX board with Venice 3200+ (E6). The sink itself seems to be cool (i.e. contact not good?). Cleaned both CPU and sink with alcohol before install. Using inclu...
