Re: Need advice for new build

Thank you for the very helpful recommendations. My present SSD (2) connect via PSU and not PCI Express. I didn't see a link to that QVL list. Seems like the define C would do alright as I don't use mechanical HDDs, though no tray for optical drive. I could go USB for optical drive if necessary. Righ...

Wire Thickness All the wires from the modular cables are 18 awg! It's usually much thinner on the power supplies I've owned thus far - usually more than 20 awg. If anyone is going to run for an SSD, there are a few things they should know about Intel: 1. The TRIM firmware was taken down after many users reported their drives bricked. 2. The Intel SSD Toolbox has issues with Windows 7. 3. Windows 7 does not always recognize the Intel SSD as an SSD. 4. The In...

Backing up question

Using Windows 7 I created a system image backed up to another SSD of identical capacity and model. The backed-up SSD has 4GB more free than the system disk. Why should there be a difference? When making an image of your disk, shouldn't they be same amount free when identical drives are used?

Have you noticed whether Superfetch is disabled? Was the defrag schedule on or off?

2. The front door. I had enough of the front door using a previous case, the Sonata. I think the main question is if it's necessary to have a top fan in place at all. I kept the rear fan, running at low speed, and that provides sufficient air flow for my needs. Only with the rear fan removed or substantially more CPU usage would the use of a top fan become an issue. Cheers Olle The...

The problem was apparently in the upgrade tool (version 1.3) when combined with Windows 7 64 bit and not in the 02HA firmware itself. Anyway, Intel has reacted at once an clearly, not as others, with subterfuges. I also decided for an Intel SSD, however I received the drive at a later time. Well, I...
