Drudge is the person who exposed Clinton as a fraud, liar, and a sexual pervert, if you remember......before anybody else did. So he does serve a useful purpose. C'mon. If getting a hummer is a sexual pervert, then the perverts outnumber the 'straights'. And being asked about whether or not h...

Well, the SS440-HT is quite nice (and pretty quiet)...if the ET series is anything like the HT series, then I think you will be happy with it. The only issue I found with the HT was a lack of PCIe power connector, so I rolled my own using the EPS12V connection. This shouldn't be a problem with the E...

XP90 or Ninja will work. I wouldn't call the XP90 'settling' as it is a very good cooler. Alternately, you could get a higher-end Thermalright (Ultima 90, Ultima 120) and buy one of their S478 adapters for about $4.00 (Jab-Tech should have them). That way if you switch to AM2 or 775 down the line, y...

Re: noob about to build an antec solo will it fit?
Any reason to use the S2 versus S1? The latter will fit and will keep your 9600GT that much cooler (a good thing) and should only be about 4 Euros more.pyrrhon wrote:Graphic

Wow.
Enermax finally builds a PSU that isn't a noisy piece of crap. I am duly impressed. Although I still think even this version looks 'pimpy'.

Again I'll just say your world view is too America-centric. We don't have Timothy McVeighs in Europe, and even if we did have, no one would protest their existence by burning embassies and killing nuns. True, but since the 1970s Europe has had such groups as the Baader-Meinhof Group (a.k.a. "Red Ar...

I actually like Gutsy Gibbon a lot even though it is somewhat primitive compared to Vista. Plus the hardware requirements are lower than Vista or XP Pro and, best of all, it is free. -D Vista is nothing more but eye candy. Um, why would this be useful? Edit: Okay, I admit I'm all for cool gadgets and using technology to improve efficiency. I even like thermodynamics. However, this seems a little pointless. Try removing your sound card and video card (including all drivers / utilities) and see if that fixes the problem - note, you may have to enable your onboard video first in the BIOS. A lot of the 'won't wake up' issues in Vista have been traced to bad video card or sound card drivers (NVidia and Cre...

If you are concerned about your kids' ability to get on to inappropriate web sites (you know, like Tom's Hardware), Vista is probably the better choice. My big concern would be the fact that the case is (most likely) made of 6063 T5 Aluminum Alloy and will therefore be more prone to noise than a equivalent steel chassis. Also, the perforated side vent would short-circuit any airflow over the hard-driver so you'd be pretty much required to put a fan ...

Go for the Sapphire 100235L HD3470 card - it is passively cooled, has 5.1 audio over HDMI and should be more than sufficient for 1080P. The 3850 you referenced is overkill for your purposes and will be hard to cool in that tiny case. Also, I'd go for a single (or pair) of ATI TV Wonder 650 Combo car...

I think you could probably fit the HIS card in an NSK2480. It uses the Zalman VNF100 and the heatpipes are clamped into a block. You should be able to bring the heatpipes down so they touch the top of the card and that should give you just enough clearance for the lid. This is assuming that the hea...
