for thermalright products you usually want to suck air away. but for alpha products you want to blow air on the heatsink. it just depends on the design. Actually, it's just the opposite. In general, Alpha heatsinks operate best if air is being sucked off of the HS (courtesy of the provided HS shrou...

Hi All, just thought that I would post a quick update. I installed one of the SilenX PSUs into my new system yesterday and, much to my dismay, I observed a high-pitched whine emanating from the PSU (coil whine?). I recently replaced this PSU with the other one that I ordered. Initially, the second o...

Pretty happy with my ATC-110. Lots of room and easy to work with. Unfortunately, there is no room to put anything with knobs behind the door. Hopefully, the new Coolermaster Aerogates will fit. Riffer: in case you are interested, I have the ATC-111 (very similar to the ATC-110) and I managed to fit...

I realize that the following question may seem somewhat silly, but given my situation re quiet/silent northbridge cooling (see this thread ), it is nonetheless pertinent (at least to me ): is it really that terrible if the heatsink pins are bent? The reason I ask is that I can either use the z...

An advantage of the -r/rw standard, apart from the fact that these DVDs are compatible with most computers and DVD players, is that the media is cheaper. Searching for an aesthetically appealing desktop ATX case

I am hoping to build a reasonably quiet HTPC style system in the near future and am in search of an aesthetically appealing, desktop ATX form factor case. I considered using a Coolermaster m-ATX case . However, this case is so large (dimensions: W=16.8", H=5.7", and L=18.7"), that I thought that I m...
