IMO it is better not to have a modular PSU, as the contacts will give a significant voltage drop (a 24 to 20 pin adapter when loaded with an a64 setup had a 0.1V drop on all rails, which is not good for the 3.3V rail).

Since I have read that it supports Cool n Quiet, that would mean that one can vie software controll Vcore and Multiplier, which is enough for me. (I don't plan on overlclocking at all, at least not this system).

Hmm.. That one looks good, as does the MSI RS480M2-IL, which supposedly has a 9600-like IGPU, which would be perfect for my needs.

Is it just me or are there no reviews at all for mobos nowadays? I havent found any at all for the ABIT and only a pre-prodoction MSI...

Which Micro ATX 754/939 mobo to get?

I would like a good MicroATX (can be slightly larger, this is for a custom case. Full ATX however is far too large). The ones that my local reseller has are these: S 754: http://www.komplett.se/k/kl.asp?bn=10125 S 939: http://www.komplett.se/k/kl.asp?bn=10482 S 754 CPUs: http://www.komplett.se/k/kl....

I Just installed the new speedfan (4.20) on my VIA M-ITX M10000 (Erza... >.<) and now *it can read CPU die temperature*!

Woo!

(It was surprisingly cool too, although i have switched the thermal pad with AS3).

According to the text next to the graph, the efficiencies they are implying: 495/600 = 82.5% 405/500 = 81.0% They neglected to mention how loud it is though. Um, that wouldn't be the efficiency (AFAICT) that is the drop in power output/efficiency that occurs as the mosfets temperature rises, not th...

If you connect the Molex and rewire it for 5V or 7V, is it still OK to plug in the 3-pin connector for RPM monitoring? Or will the 12V coming from the motherboard header do bad things when it is mixed with the 5V/7V combination from the Molex? It would do bad things. You'd be shorting the 5v and 12...

The max 450G requirement is meant for big OEMS, that have to ship built computers on trucks and stuff, where they are subjected to very nasty bumps and jarrs (somewhere around 10G's I believe). So 700grams wont kill your bracket directly, just be carefull when moving your computer to not be all too ...

Don't worry about the port at all, if it is hot enough to melt that then you've got much more pressing problems such as your cpu bieng completely dead. However, one thing you should worry about is the of-center load that will occur becuase of the contact. The base of the HSF will no longer press eve...

A Zalman NB47J with *VERY IMPORTANT* bent out fins, soft of like a zalman 6000 but in both directions (this makes it much seaier for air to get to the fins, which are too tight for optimal passive operation normally) should be enough.

I use speedfan, it does everything I need very well, and IMO feels less bloated when compared to MBM *IMO*. I think you could get the monitor from one point thing to work, albeit indirectly, by setting up speedfan so it logs temps and then downloading the log to your comp from the loggee.

That is true as when hardmounted the whine will transfer to the case (seek noise is transferred much better though).

Nope, shouldn't matter at all, the card may however hiss at you for not having a fan plugged in, however I doubt this as I have not heard of it, it is however possible... (really really doubt it).

You would probably also deform the base of the heatpipes when you attach them to the die, beacuse they are made of relativly thin material. The bending would give an awfull contact to the die.

Ducting a 7000Alcu, blowing the hot air up! *PICS*

What I have wanted to do for a while now is duct out the hot air that my cpu gives off while using a zalman 7000. This of course is quite difficult in that you don't have a frame to hold the fan in, so I had to make my own fan holder thing. When attached like it is now (using the stock fan @ 5v for ...
