Some (if not most/all) of the newer ATX 2.0 PSUs' +12v line goes haywire on older systems due to heavy current draw on +5v line.

The DVR-111D can be flashed to the DVR-111 to enable the DVD-RAM writing. However, there is a foamed version, the A11XL which is supposed to be more quiet than the regular DVR-111/D. Take note there is another version (for the Asian market??), A11FX which looks like the A11XL, but lacks the internal...

I used to have an LG 4120B. IIRC, when I tried to lower the read speed of a DVD R disc with movie files, the drive didn't lower the rpm immediately. If you try to read the contents of the drive in Explorer, you'll then notice the drop in speed. It's a little slow to respond, I guess. EDIT: nvm. I ju...

100c is not right.

I have a 6600 (oc'ed to 450/625) with a zalman zm80a-hp. Doesn't break 80C on load, playing NFS most wanted.

since you're having problems with a stock cooler, you might want to rma it instead of taking the trouble to take the whole thing apart.

still holding onto an AthlonXP Mobile 2500+.

It can clock to 2.4GHz, but that would need noisy cooling :(

so it's stuck at default 2500+ 1.83GHz at the moment.

The heatpipes will be pointing up when installed in a case, although i'm not sure whether it'll hit your PSU or block all your DIMM slots.

you need to make sure your K7S5A mobo has the 4pin square ATX12V connector. That means your motherboard is drawing power from the +12v line to power the processor. Most K7 mobos don't have that ATX12V connector, meaning the mobo draws power from the +5v line. The NeoHE wasn't built for a high load o...

Hi there's no way I can get hold of a real D12SL-12 here wihout spending a bomb on shipping :( The closest I can get is a Thermaltake 120mm. It's rated for ~1400rpm and 0.3A like the D12SL-12. Those older Antec Truepowers and Smartpowers will work fine. My previous TP380S (Sonata) works fine with voltages within specs.

I can't tell how the TPII will fare because I don't have one.

yeah, it's the bluestorm. No such voltage problem with the TP380S (ATX 1.3v, independant voltage regulators). Maybe it's got to do with the PSU's voltage regulators for ATX 2.0 PSUs? The NF7-S uses the square 4pin (ATX12V? aka Pentium4 plug) connector to power the processor, so no such problems. I d...
