^^ Ditto. I recently did some research (mostly reading this forum) and went with the Samsung drive. I bought three of them to replace the assorted western digital drives in my computer. So far I am very pleased. Even during writes, they're nearly inaudible in my P180.

How long did you take to complete the door mod? When I first attempted this mod on my doors I thoguht I could do it with just an X-acto knife but it seemed it would take forever.

Yes it is possible to do Raid 1 with eSATA provided your Mobo has EsATA connectors. But I would guess you would have to build your own quiet enclosure, if you want quiet. If you want absolute security then you need to backup offsite. There are lots of free internet storage sites. Chances are in a f...

I'd be curious to see how cleanly you made a hole in your wall... good idea, i'd consider it myself if there wasn't a toilet on the wall opposite my computer desk.

If it's possible to do RAID1 over eSATA, a good external enclosure might be the better option then.

Quiet Internal 5.25 Bay Removable HDD Rack?

I currently have two HDs in my P180 case, one for the OS and another for 'everything else.' I want to replace that second drive with two in a raid 1 configuration, and I want one of those drives in a removable bay for easy access in the event of a house fire or some such thing. I searched this forum...

I'm generally satisfied with my P180 setup. It is audible if i put my head within a foot of the case, but seated normally I can't hear it, which is quite nice.

Buy a Dremel. About 361 days a year you might wonder why the hell you blew the money on it, but those four you actually use it make it worthwhile.

It's my understanding that the Seasonic S12-500 is rather highly regarded here. I have one and love it (has PCI-E x2)... doesn't make a peep.

Very nice setup. One comment. It looks like the orange fan blowing air out the back and the fans cooling the radiator are blowing air towards each other. Would it not make more sense for the radiator fans to draw air away from the case?

Your Basic P180 Rig - Sans Fan Grills - Filter Door Mod

Late last year, I posted this topic about my new P180 rig. Since last December, my computer has evolved a little bit and I did some things I have not seen repeated here, enough for a new topic in my opinion. This is a pretty basic rig based on the Antec P180 . Most of my purchasing decisions were ma...

P180 - Upper HDD cage fan placement

I'll be Dremeling out the fan grills of my Antec P180 this weekend. Since I have the case open, I was wondering about the case fan that goes in front of the upper HDD cage. At the moment I have it against the front wall of the case, but I know you can use some supplied fan clips and attach it to upp...

That Rubber Stuff You Use After Cutting Fan Grills

I recently worked up the courage to cut out the fan grills of my P180 case. I got a new Dremel recently and had a junk P180 case to practice on last night. Anyway, I want to do this right and remember seeing this rubber edge covering stuff people put around the recently cut hole to cover the sharp e...

I think the best thing you can do is to look though the general gallery for P180s and see how people do it. At the risk of flattering myself, I think I did a decent job on my P180. I didn't have any grand strategy although I did try to keep everything in one bundle. http://mrbsdomain.com/gallery2/d/...

ack! You took out the filters but left the grilles in front of them? Those filters are a godsend. I haven't had to blow anything out of my case since I bought it in August 05...and you wanted to improve airflow but then blocked off all the vents around the side of the door with construction...

The Saitek Eclipse is an excellent keyboard beyond the backlit feature. It is black, has volume controls not not the calculator thing though.

I also have a Logitech MX Revolution. It's an excellent mouse but rather pricy at $80 (Amazon).
