Re: Silent 120mm exhaust needed
I can control the cpu fan but not the other chassies fans? Anyway im using the ULNA connector to my cpu Noctua fan so i don't think Speedfan recognizes it and it don't using Speedfan 4.44 beta. christianh, where do you come from? It looks like a bit odd that you can't understand my rather simple en...

Re: Silent 120mm exhaust needed
I have the MSI Neo2 FIR http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P35-Neo2-FR---FIR.html It's not so old, at all: I don't have had that board, but you should have a PWM CPU fan header, nearby the CPU socket. Anyway, check your BIOS: usually under the Hardware Monitor section, MSI boards let's you choose a PWM ...

Re: Fan placement in P183
Question is, is the Noctua fans any better. Much more expensive yes but better?falkenad wrote:With all this positive buzz, I've been tempted to replace the aging S-Flex fans with newer Noctua ones.

The Noctua model you selected isn't designed to handle much back pressure. There is an SPCR review of it.

Re: Silent 120mm exhaust needed
So basically your saying without any form off pwm control you should not go for 500rpm fans like the SlipStream PVM 500? No, you're wrong: I never said so. And above all, it's not true. My old motherboard doesn't any sort of PWM control so which 500rpm fans should i go for? "My old motherboard" doe...

Re: Silent 120mm exhaust needed
so please recommend something There isn't anything quieter all over the world, at 24cfm (5V). If you drop a fair amount of airflow, you may give a try to the slower Kama Flow 2 900rpm and SlipStream L 800rpm (not available, I mean, at that site). If you have a PWM splitter (or a good PWM header ava...

Re: Noctua NF-S12B FLX 1,200 RPM VS Scythe SFF21E 1,200 RPM
NH-P12 is a really good fan for CPU coolers. Use the resistor cable that comes with the fan to lower ts speed. If you already own this fan it would be a shame not to use it, more so if you need to spend money on a new fan. If you must have a Scythe fan you can get a Slipstream 1200 or 800RPM. The 1...

Re: Fanless Power Supply PC Build Guide
Im running a 5 year old P35 motherboard from MSI and i don't have PWM control unfortunately. I have been running my Noctua NF-S12-1200 120mm fans for nearly five years now since i built my system and been using the ULNA Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptor cable attached to them forcing them to go 800rpm instead...

Lian Li PC-B25B vs the Antec Solo 2
Which has the best price/quality ratio? I can get hold of a Lian Li PC-B25B for about 45 dollars and i know it's a old case but it's still being sold today for a reason. The Antec Solo 2 is rather new and both have their power supply enclosure installed in the upper section. Which one should i go for?

Re: Is Passive CPU Cooling Best for Silent Computing?
...I very strongly disagree with the modern thinking of bottom mounted PSU's. This IMO has a "negative" impact on airflow. A bottom PSU will draw cool air out of the system as it's placed low down (unless the fan is sucking in from the bottom of the case outside) if it's reversed inside the case it...

Which miditower case for a DAW computer?
I have spent months trying to find a case optimal for music production where silence is the most important thing. I haven't found anyone that really sticks out so i thought i make thread for this. I've looked into these cases. Fractal Design Define, Cooler Master Sileo 500, Antec Solo or NZXT H2. As...
