Another minor annoyance about the TB site that helps make sure I'm not a regular visitor is a fairly heavy cookie storm, and they also do pop-ups!
![Exclamation :!:](./images/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif)
(I was visiting to check out the link that Ralf left...)
Tells me they're a bunch of nogoodnix just from that alone.

ok a few things....
Copying content from other peoples sites sucks! I have had it happen to me a few times over at bluecouch.com.au
This guys site is a shocker, nothing original at all ! If he breaches again, you can pursue him for copyright infringement under Australian law. We can also contact their hosting provider and have their site removed if need be.

Do it now, before they figure out. Replacing the pictures with porn might be a bad idea but what you should do is first, make new copies of your images with the SPCR badge, and add a "b" to the end of their name. Then, replace the existing pictures with various random stuff.
Here are some amusing ideas:
1. (this is my favorite) - go into MSPaint and make a sort of crude horizontal rainbow with a purple upside-down triangle and the words "Freedom Now!!!" That'll learn 'em.
2. Draw a piece of pumpkin pie in MSPaint and then put the text "Save Your Fork!!!"
3. Find some pictures of gigantic antique computers like the old IBMs, or maybe the Apple II and shuffle 'em in.
4. Replace all the old images with "SILENT PC REVIEW FIGHTS WEB PLAGIARISM" in big black words on a white background
but don't be too loud about it or else they'll get the hint and copy all the pictures to their site.

Silicon News has an
excellent article on this stuff. Included below the article are a few discussions that have some solutions for this type of thing.
I kinda like
this solution.

So of course i told him to get lost and get a life

I'd just put in either a meta refresh wth a brief explanation or a direct link and let the theives supply the bandwidth and cpu time to host my material.... all with a big unspoken thank you.

Just as a follow up: As far as I can tell 'Technobabble' is out of business. All the previously listed links (including php.technobabble.com.au/) just get bumped to "ausweb.com.au". So it would seem that at least that part of Mr. Bauer's enterprises is now defunct.
bondiablo didn't put in a link with his Mar 11th post so I couldn't check on that.
I did a Yahoo search also and the one (relevant) result I found just bumped to "ausweb.com.au" too. It seems that "ausweb.com.au" has changed their registration info some, but it is still run by 'Bauer Media'.
...so maybe it all did some good after all!

Yeah, these sort of spud-boys can come creeping back just like a cockroach. Can't be too careful.

just seen this post, made me laugh because a few minutes ago I saw some distinctive pictures on ausweb's site which look remarkably similar to mediatemple's:
original mediatemple:
http://www.mediatemple.net/getstarted/switch/
copied ausweb:
http://ausweb.com.au/html/SWITCHING%20HOST.htm
Graphics, text, even the table struucture look like they've been copy n pasted!
I know this post is now a few years old but thought yas might be interested in their current dodginess...

I'm in Australia and never even knew that site existed. No-one from Oz forumss ever links to it so I don't know where/if people hear about it.
From what I've seen, today will be my one and only visit too

Well, it's a good thing this problem is long solved, but I, coming from some of the gorier parts of the internet (we're talking teenage nerds, as opposed to mature geeks), still think the best way to solve the image hotlinking at the least is to replace the images with shock images

I think most tech sites are using cut-down articles from other sites as a matter of course now (to fill their pages). I don't see a problem with that
as long as they credit the source and provide a link to the main article. It get's the info out there.
Copying a complete article and giving no credit, well....

@MikeC, and all those who may want to do reviews. guess it's time to watermark them review pictures in way that it is hard for other sites to defeat.

Two points:
1: The original post is dated December 2003. This plagerism took place over two years ago.
2: We do watermark review pictures in a way that is hard for other sites to defeat. AFAIK, we have had no problems since.
