I want to build a desktop system based on the mobile Athlon 64 CPU's.
Any recommendations for a good motherboard?

Nice Iron Chef quote!
I think the Abit KV8Pro and maybe the ASUS K8V SE have the settings in BIOS for the mobile A64 chips. That's just a guess - you might want to email their customer reps and get a firm answer. The rest of the mobo makers I don't read up on as much so that's *truly* guessing then.

I was searching about a month ago on this subject. The best answers I could find are here:

I bought the MSI MicroATX Board here: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 451&depa=0
It works as 800Mhz, but when ClockGen is used you can update the Voltage, FSB and Multiplier to the appropriate values.
My 62W 2800+ runs at its stock 1.6Ghz after doing it.
Good luck!
