A couple of billion dollars in annual sales and they can't come up with better graphic design than that?
I still liked calling them clawhammers better.

I've gotta put this chip in my washing machine!

Yeah, they probably paid a few million to come up with it too...
You should have read the
www.theregister.co.uk article about the new Kyocera/Minolta merger/logo

Man that 64 is big too. As if 95% of the people out there give a rat's ass what the "64" stands for anyway.

good marketing could convince them that it has twice as many bits and peices as a pentium so a real man buys athlon 64s

ugly. those swirly things are just disturbing. Makes it hard to read. I just wanted to keep my eyes from it. And they looked slightly familiar. If you remove 64 from it, it forms a mirrored S.

I think symbolically it looks like the 64 is being flushed down a toilet.

You are all wrong, it is supposed to symbolize a galaxy with 64-Bits at the center of it.

I think they might have been going for a confusion-based tactic with the swirls...Intel has theirs...

I personally think that it is very good. The swirls are simply stylistic elements. I would be proud for one of my computers to bear that sticker.

My next "major" system will bear that sticker. Well, at least that sticker will be on the box the CPU comes in. But I still find it to be fairly uncreative.
