Quick ducting job on my Tualeron server

Post by jb_ » Wed Jun 14, 2006 3:41 am

Just added a small duct to my server, a 1.2ghz Tualatin Celeron. It's allowed me to reduce the PSU fan from 7v to 5v, and the side exhaust fan from about 5v to about 3.5v. Not much of a reduction, but it's made an already extremely quiet machine even quieter.

Cut up part of a manila folder to make the duct:

Hard disk is a Samsung 200gb soft-mounted with a shoelace. I'd suspend it in free air, but I keep the case mounted vertically in the gap between a desk and a chest of drawers

Couple of notches to allow the duct to fit around the corners of the P3 heatsink

Knew I left something out.... it's an Antec Minuet. But I might upgrade to one of the awesome-looking Lian Li V300's when they become available.
