Watercooled rig, homemade waterblocks/system

Post by Qwertyiopisme » Sun Jan 22, 2006 12:43 am

Well, after upgrading my main system this christmas, I decided to watercool more components. In my previous setup I only watercooled the cpu (a 3200+), but now that I upgraded to an nForce4 motherboard and a 6600GT i bit the bullet and made some waterblocks for them too.

The components are:

DFI UT4 SLI-DR Expert
AMD X2 3800+
2x Twinmos 1gb
Gainward 6600gt (dual dvi)
2x Seagate 7200.7 160gb pata
1x Seagate 7200.7 200gb sata
1x Seagate 7200.8 250gb sata
Nexus 4090
Nec 2510a dvd burner
Pinnacle el cheapo tv card

The whole setup runs in a somewhat modded SLK-3000B clone. (replaced harddisk holder, holes driller for watercooling, cut fin grills).

Temps are quite good, with the CPU reporting 25° typically (max reported is 30°), nForce 4 at 40°typ, max 45°, the 6600gt at 30° typ, max (30 mins rthdribl) 40°. All the harddisks tend to lie around 30-33°.

There may be many fans in the setup, but the noisiest one is by far the nexus 120, which I run at 7V. (the other fans just barely spin, so slowly that one can *almost* see the induvidual blades).

Here come the images

Note: the images shown of the waterblock in pieces is the vga block. The nForce4 is just a copper pipe going over a copper slab, and the cpu is similar to the vga block except its size and the absence of the integrated 90° adapters.
