I haven't noticed the fan ramping up on mine, but the air coming out the back of the psu is a lot warmer than the air blown out by the TriCool.

Well you can't see everything in the pictures; I don’t have any pictures of the inside part but here is a diagram of a muffled duct.

It’s mostly the same design but with filters because it’s an intake.

Nope, but it does run warmer than the Seasonics that I'm used to using so I ducted mine just to be safe.

Mine didnt ramp up much without a duct. I had an OCd x800GTO and a 3500+(fah 24/7) cooled by a 7700Cu in there, room temp around 22c. It might have got slightly quieter with the duct.
