about $700-$800 USD but iv been saving for awhile... my current system is a sempron 3200+, 512MB om kingston, some cheapo 128MB video card, stock heatsink... a 250 maxtor.... and evermax 400w liberty (wich will be used in the new system)..... so its a huge improvement over what im useing now
i already have every thing but the MoBo (on its way), heat sink and video card

I built my first computer when I was 17, and noise was the least of my concerns... neither was airflow. The case I used had a really restrictive rear exhaust fan grill and the most ridiculously unstable PSU ever built. It only had a single 60mm fan, but it was completely sealed off otherwise.
There was no way to mount an intake fan, and the only fan inside the system was on top of my CPU heatsink trying desperately to cool it by spinning at a million RPM.
It killed three harddrives.
Good to see you're not entirely obsessed with performance!
