First thanks for the complements.
@ishi Great budget build ... It came out spectacular. I like the digital readout you mounted in the to of the case, as well the rest of the work done.
@paramthegreat The only mods where the removal of that lower rack where the intent was to suspend the drives in a home brew rack, however.that did not pan out.
The widening the hole where the sata cables come through on the motherboard tray.
The changing of the plastic case feet to 3m rubber self adhesive feet.
The removal of the iee1394/hd audio cables from the front panel.
Other then these no other mods planed except to maybe add the scythe ninja fan back.
For the most part the centurion 5 can be made quiet/silent with the right parts, however. the one thing that may need to be addressed depending on the build is openness of the front. yes it allows cool air in,however it will let noise out if the parts used are not quiet from the start.

Does removing the Hard Drive rack affect the structural rigidity of the case?

I drilled out the rivets. you can also use a hammer, and putty knife to pop the rivets free. The cage slides out after those are removed.

A riveted in HD rack has to be one of the first things to mod. You CAN however, grommet mounr 2-3 hds to a freed cage and suspend rthe whole unit.
This is a nice neat build, pretty proportioned. I'd wonder about that much overclock on the OPty---it seems there's not major gaming-so if there's less OC...then there's no need to add another fan.
The FSP/Fortran Green at about $30 is hard to match for a budget build,of course this setup is not ultra frugal,as a Sempron and a single HD also means less $. It is a pretty solid build.

It's a lot more quieter then the centurion, however. The centurion was only modified for drive suspending. I'm pretty sure the centurion could be made more quiet with further modifications. It also depends on the parts put in the case as well.paramthegreat wrote:Ah!! I see you have ditched the Centurion and gone with P150 to say the least. Looks good, how much more quieter is the P150 as compared to the centurion.
I have been considering the Solo, but I keep on missing sales for that case.
