Hardware:

NSK2480 with original PSU
Ninja mini
Sapphire AMD HD3470
Lifeview DVB-T Hybrid
WD AV WD2500AVJS 250 GB
Athlon X2 BE-2350
GA-MA69GM-S2H
Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D

The system is close to completely silent, I can only her the air flow when I listen very closely, and I'm yet to notice the harddrive.

Oh and if you wonder about the strange protruding position of the NSK2480 compared to my receiver above the NSK needed a bit more room behind than I predicted :?

EDIT:

Got around to swap the PSU fan and suspend the harddrive in the emty 5.25" bay.

The harddrive is suspended in a piece of shoelace that I had lying around, and the PSU fan was replaced by the fan from the mini.

Unless heavily modified, I doubt this is a NSK3480, rather 2480 ;)
How many fans does it have and how quiet does it run ?

Yes stupid typo :D

I can't say how quit it is, my bar was quite enough. It make less noise than my T60.

Besides the fan in the PSU I only use one fan, it's the Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D mounted in side close to the ninja mini.

The only things I would suggest (from experience) is:

- Swapping the 80mm fan from the PSU with the one that came with the Minja.

- Suspend a laptop HDD instead of a standard 3.5" drive (best thin I ever did for this case).

- Use an undervolted 1,000 or 1,200 RPM SlipStream as your fan.

- Use a Thermalright Bolt-thru kit on the Minja (if you haven't already)

What are you temps like with one fan?

I'm not all that keen on opening the PSU, but I'll consider the fan swap ;)

As I doesn't notice the harddrive I quite satisfied with my current drive.

What would the difference between my current fan and the SlipStream be?

As the socket is AM2 I'm not quite sure how the bolt though kit should be used, but I can say that the Minja is very well seated. I had some minor problems because of the tension needed attach the cooler properly.

Temps after 40 mins of video playback.

The fan does not spin up until temp1 and temp2 gets over 40C

A Slip Stream generates more airflow at similar speeds, but unless you really need it (get extremely high temperatures), there's no point in adding/swapping fans. The S-FLEX actually has a better bearing, which makes it quieter at low speeds. I'd set a minimal speed of 500rpm at all times, only rising it when the CPU gets very hot (check AMD data to see how much your CPU can take safely, and subtract 10C). This will make the fan inaudible under low and moderate load.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking...

What about a stress test?

GPU tops out at around 85 and CPU around 65 after 1.5 hours of max load on both.

That's a little on the hot side. In the same case, my E4500 tops out at 51C and the 9600GT with stock cooler gets about 60ish C.

I know ;)

But I don't plan on running it a anywhere near that workload, i.e. no gaming or video encoding. And with that in mind the cooling is sufficient :)

And if you ever plan on gaming, you can simply add another fan. :)

Yes, but you have two fans that run faster than the S-FLEX D (this is the 800rpm version). The higher temps with just one fan are consistent with the SPRC review.

Yes, I do have 2 fans, but both are undervolted to about 800RPM. With the duct on my Minja, I could probably get away with one fan, but the extra noise isn't noticable from my seating position.

Added some stuf to the original post ;)

Swapped the PSU fan and suspended the harddrive. I also made sure that the 120mm fan is always spinning.

Thumbs up on the PSU fan swap :) There was a huge difference between the two when I had them both hooked up (one at a time) to the PSU with no other noise sources. You said you didn't have issues with HDD noise, so I take it that you didn't notice much of a difference after suspending it?
After yamaha's testimonial, I'm tempted to go that extra mile if it makes the seeks quieter, as that's the about the only time I hear mine...

In pure sound there is not much difference, I still does not hear the HDD (unless I put my ear down in front of the pc). But the PSU fan swap did one good thing, it removed a periodic (every 2-3 seconds) low frequency buss which I could only perceive when sitting at my desk.
