Hi,
i built new system just for fun and for "know how" overclock core2duo cpus.
Wanna show you the spec and pics.
Mb: Jetway NC64-LF mini itx motherboard
Cpu: - Core Duo 2 extreme x9100-3.06Ghz (oc@ 3466Mhz Via throttlestop)
Memory: 2x2 Gb 1333 DDR3
Hdd: WD 500Gb 5000AAKS
Case: Cooler master Elite 341 mini tower Atx
Psu: FSP Aurum 400w Gold
LG DVD GH22NS50 Black
Thermalright HR 05 FIX on chipset
idle- ~30w
load ~ 50-70w depend on clock and load cores.
Stock cooler was unable cool this beats, so i made new heatsink from Thermaltake Spark 7.
dimensions:
heatsink : 60x50x35- pure cooper, weight 200g
fan: cooler master 60x60x15 (will be replaced for bigger and low noise fan soon)
Over 5 h work on it.
Enjoy

That cpu heatsink looks kinda small and therefore loud. How is the sound in real life?

I imagine since this is a laptop chip, a standard desktop size cooler wouldn't have much issue dealing with 44w of TDP.

protellect has true, why always stock coolers for laptop chips are too small?
Jetway forgot for me, overclocker
Sounds depend on the PWM rpm regulation. When load Prime, sure the sound is like "roflcopter" ( only depend on load temperature)
When cpu under 40°C, fan turn off.
Its just only about regulation. Unfortunately Speedfan doesn't recognize well the regulation sensors.
But is not problem make manual rpm regulation , when fan connect to 5-7v.
I'm not sure, which fan will be there, that's why current is there 70x70x15 fan. Guess 80 mm fan will be right choice.
Wanna see stock heatsink?
