Dead silent PC [Fanless GT730 + Core i5-4460] [V2: GTX1050]
Hello guys,
Below my working desktop. I mainly use it for Autodesk Autocad 2015 (2D only), Office 2013 and web browsing:
1 x Intel 530 Series, 180 Go, SATA III (for OS)
1 x SSD PLUS SanDisk SATA III 2,5" 240 Go (secondary drive)
1 x Intel Core i5-4460 (3.2 GHz)
1 x Asus GT730-SL-2GD3-BRK Nvidia 2 Go DDR3
1 x MSI H81M-E33
1 x Fractal Design Core 1500
1 x Alpenfohn Sella
1 x Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE
1 x Be Quiet ! Pure Power L8 CF, 400W
1 x MSI H81M-E33
1 x DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X, 2 x 8 Go
I was using the integrated graphic processor until I bought a second LCD screen.
Fan are turned to low, I really can't hear anything from my computer, even without side covers.
Against dust:
Edit:
I've decided to change the GT730 with a GTX 1050 (Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Windforce OC Edition 2GB - GV-N1050OC-2GD).
It's a semi-passive GC, 0db below 60°:

A little update!
It's the cheapest semi-passive GTX1050 (120€), I'm using Revit 3D so I needed a better GPU.

I'm eyeing the same card for casual pc gaming.
For work - I'm using mostly photoshop and AutoCAD 2D.
I know that for 3D it will be a big change - but did you noticed any difference in 2D after the change?

Not in 2D, I cant notice any difference with Autocad 2D between the HD4600, GT730 and GTX1050.VERiON wrote:I'm eyeing the same card for casual pc gaming.

With Revit it's different, now I can open 3D project.
Edit: 37°C at idle.

I thought so - that's why I didn't buy that card yet. I have a similar setup and HD4600 in 2D is probably on par with all current graphics cards.
But this card is a really great deal - as cheap as other one-fan-smaller-heatsink variants - but with bigger heatsink and passive fans at idle.
What's the catch? I've heard rumors that they are using inferior quality fans - have you played some games or can run some benchmark and report if fan noise is acceptable?

I'm running FurMark, after 5 minutes:VERiON wrote:Not in 2D, I can't notice any difference with Autocad 2D between the HD4600, GT730 and GTX1050

It doesn't go over 62°C (fans start at 60°C) and I can't notice the difference, it's super quiet.

@justice99: can you give me your feedback regarding the Fractal Design 1500? I mean, I am interested in all the aspects: fan filters, included fans noise, fan controller functionality, ease of build, etc.
kind regards,
