For what it's worth... I have a Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9, Opteron 152 and a Scythe Mine HSF and have almost an inch to spare (in height). Looking at the picture here, of the Scythe next to the HR-01, http://www.silentpcreview.com/article636-page1.html, I dare say you'll be fine.wefone87 wrote:Please help, will a hr-01 fits tj-08??? anybody tried before? hr-01 160.5mm tall, tj-08 195mm width.
Hey, did you notice that the Athenatech A301BS.400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811190061 is almost the exact same thing as the TJ08 but costs 1/2 as much AND has a 400W PSU?
Do you have your computer all set up? How do you have your hard drive mounted? I have my WD SE16 500GB with a ZALMAN ZM-2HC2 on the bottom of the case but am thinking of getting a Mcubed Vertical Silencer instead. Anyone tried this?
Maybe we should have a new uber TJ08 thread!
----My own update
Of course if anyone actually KNOWS, please chime in!
I just measured the clearance between my Scythe MINE and the door and it's roughly 10 cm ( I had forgotten about the heat pipe "caps"!). Newegg has the MINE at 150 cm, so I'd say you'd be EXTREMELY close. Too close perhaps. {Assuming almost equal CPU heights, etc.}
What CPU do you have? My MINE cools my Opteron 152 44.1 W with Cool n Quiet to ~30 C at ~900 RPM, mobo controlled. It's very quiet. I bought the heatsink before the CPU, I was prepared to get maybe a 67 W CPU.
Oof... to answer that I think I would have to put 1mm of adhesive spacing on the tips of the heatpipes. As I said, it is tight enough it is practically ducted and does a fantastic job of cooling, even though it's mounted in the less-optimal horizontal orientation due to my using the bolt-thru bracket (which I HIGHLY recommend!). The 1.8 Sempron doesn't even get to 45 under load, though that's with an MSI board thermister...
