GMC R-4 Bulldozer

For the gamer or LANer, something a little different:

Manufacturer's overview
Club Overclocker review
neoseeker review
Virtual-Hideout review
XSReviews review

Marks for creativity and audacity. Maybe not as much on execution. Although I wouldn't go as far as buying the case, I'm actually not that offended by it.

What do you think? Is it a complete waste of time and resources or a ray of eccentric sunshine in a climate of dark, muggy and depressing monotone cases? Would you consider it just for the boys' toys factor or could it make for a credible case with some major changes and modifications? Or should it just be bulldozed?

Nice to see some short case, but DAM that one is ugly :D

Like the ide.

Whud like to se a mATX case like that but skipp the ODD.

But all cases can be nice if you mod them :)

I built a system for my sister using GMC's "Toast" case and I can vouch for the company. The case doors seem a little flimsy and the case-front has a bit too much plastic for my liking but it's light, easy to work with, and is aesthetically pleasing. For non-high-end computers I think GMCs are pretty good.

When I saw the thread title, I was expecting something that looked like it had been locked in a barn for a few hours with the A-Team and a welding gun!

that's a fugly one.

i expected a bit better...great for short, it fits that bill...but horrid on cable management. if horrid can touch that.

interesting concept for the ODD though...can't say i've seen that anywhere else for sure.

looks interesting but it's still 380mm deep, putting the odd there hasn't really reduced depth by that much- an example would be the antec nsk3480 which is about 350mm deep.

i would like to see a matx version with the odd above the psu, i don't care much for height but i do love shallow cases.

Is that what happens when a toy manufacturer decides to make a computer case? 8)

The manufacturer claims: "Supports up to the longest graphic card"
Yet it lacks 15mm to fit the standard Radeon HD 5870...

Otherwise I think it looks tough, obviously intended to be placed on the desk rather than on the floor.

Cheers
