Does Thermaltake Tsunami use Nexus fans?

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

Does Thermaltake Tsunami use Nexus fans?

Post by arsenal » Fri Jan 14, 2005 1:51 pm

I bought a thermaltake tsunami and a few nexus fans with a plan in mind of building a silent system, but I notice the 2 fans that come built in have orange blades. I took one out and the frame also looks very similar to my nexus fans. The amperage on the stock fans was .38 rather than .30 like my nexus fans....

are these nexus fans?

My brother has that case and I the fans are no where near quiet. I think the orange blades are just a coincidence. I found the fans specs a while ago but I don’t remember where. My brother is using one nexus in his system now and its relatively quiet, except for a little aluminum hum. Also the front fan makes a lot of extra noise due to the restricted air flow (despite the front bezel looking so cool).

Sounds ridiculous that thermaltake would do such a thing, but nevermind that.

That wouldn't make sense, because nexus don't manufacture their own fans. The 12cm nexus fan is made by yate loon, so you'll have to check if it looks like some of those. Check the PSU reviews, some of the nexus and seasonic units use 1700rpm yate loons.

My fortron used a 2200 rpm yate, I replaced it and haven't used it for anything else, It says Yate loon on one edge, and on the other one has arrows labeled airflow and rotation.
