Ichbinleise Maxiset damping material? Opinions?

Post by DG » Fri Oct 07, 2005 2:23 pm

I plan to buy this damping set: http://www.ichbinleise.de/product_info. ... cts_id=161 . Is it any good? Has anyone used it and post a picture or two, or write about it? Please? :)

No English i'm afraid...:(

The kit is formed from two materials, one 2mm high density material (they say 1,75kg/m²) and one 1cm foam like material, that sits on top of the 2mm material.
The kit weights ~2.3 kg, i think...

I have used the other dampening material sold on that site:
SILMA FK 25 to isolate sounds and reduce vibrations all around the case
SILMA VS 320 to absorbe sound on the top of the case (it isolates too)
SILMA PU 420 to absorbe sound on the low part of the case.
You have to use FK 25 as a base on the whole case. You have to put the other materials, where needed, over it.
I found instructions on www.elma.it. You could find german instructions on www.silentmaxx.com.
If you have a thin aluminium vibrating case it can help.
Suspending disk and using low noise fans reduces noise much more.

On the Spechen Tab on the right, click the Union Jack (UK flag) symbol, next to the german flag. Turns all the page into english.
