Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

P180 top-hole blanking plate by me, with pictures.

Post by nici » Wed Jan 11, 2006 11:24 am

I didnt have anything else to do and had some spare .75mm polycarbonate over from my PSU duct so i made a blanking plate for the top hole and painted it black, since its polycarbonate its easy to paint, has a near perfect color match matte finish on the paint side and mirror-like finish on the other side 8) Took me about an hour or so to make, plus painting with polycarbonate spraypaint.

Again i apologize for the image quality, but its hard to get good photos indoors with my phone.

What do you think? :)

Nici,

I think it's from the ass and the accordion. Some finnish posters may get the joke....

No really, it looks very nice. You're on fire with your P150 and P180!

Thanks for the positive feedback :) 1mm sheet would be better though, now its just a bit too thin. It would fit even smoother if it was 1mm. The paint i used is black humbrol polyCARbonate paint, meant for RC-cars wich happen to have polycarbonate bodies because its so damn durable.

I might use this one as a template and make another, i have some 1mm sheet too but its a nice 50x50cm untouched piece...

I think im going to the garage and make another, im pissed off at this computer right now. see my thread in General Gallery about the magnificent P150 with a polycarbonate(i love this stuff) PSU duct.
