Still nothing? :( Doesn't look like this'll be coming out until the new year.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you...i've always loved the style of the Fusion/NSK2400 but my current HTPC is a full ATX board and now I don't have to upgrade to a microATX board... thank you!

Emailed Antec regarding the Max, here's the reply:
Thank you for your interest in our products. Yes, the Fusion Max is in the tooling stages now. If all goes well with tooling it should be available in early February. Of course if there are any problems it could be slightly delayed a bit more.

Nexus Real Silent 120mm = Yate Loon D12SL-12
Yate Loon make a 14cm version: D14SL-12

I'm still waiting for the mini (well, noticeably smaller) P182... Anybody know anything about that?

Interesting, another Antec case with dust filters at the front, and a big unrestricted vent above the expansion slots along with vented pci slot cover. I guess Antec somehow believes dust magically never enters through the back of the case.

i noticed that too. seems retarded. i guess some tape could easily block those vents. it seems like the incoming air would just short circuit to the exhaust fans anyway.

What do you lot reckon - will an Accelero S1 fit inside the Fusion Max without modding the case lid?

Image

There's probably an additional 5-10mm on top of the 140mm fan.

The Accelero S1 is 140mm tall.... plus the motherboard height....

I don't think it'll fit :( Will have to cut grooves into the lid.

NSK version?

Post by SouthPaw » Wed Jan 16, 2008 11:31 am

Does anyone know if Antec is planning on a NSK version of the Fusion Max? Like a NSK2480 Max?

A 2480 max would be sweet.

You must wonder what exactly they're doing to it after all this time.

My thoughts are along the same lines. I have an NSK2400, and it's great.

Hi guys,

I too am interested in acquiring this case so yesterday evening I sent a mail to Antec Europe. This was the reply this morning:

Media PCs generally don't have to be as quiet as a desktop home PC; when they're being used, there's usually some sound coming out of the speakers to mask PC noise, and users are seated some distance away.
I've seen this mentioned a few times but I have to say I don't agree, I find there is nothing worse than coming to a quite moment in a film and hearing noise from the components, my hd-dvd, pvr, xbox all are culprits of this. perhaps I live in a very quite area (and probably sit too close to the tv :-) )

that said this looks like a good candidate for my htpc build this summer.

Anyone heard anything more on this? Looking at rebuilding my htpc soon, and would prefer the flexibility of a full atx case...

And maybe, just maybe, your various components are just not quiet enough. My general standard for an under-desk PC is maximum ~22 dBA/1m. For a HTPC, I'd allow 3-4 dBA higher... and from 2 m away, it would still sound like 22-23 dBA because of the additional distance. Dialog under 30 dBA is simply unintelligible for most people. (How do I know? Tried an informal poll/survey with various folks in front of my TV over the course of several "sessions" with various types of programming. Less than 30 dBA at the listening position, and most viewers could not understand dialog consistently. This is with a PVR, just under the TV; it measures ~24 dBA from the seating position.

Sendt a mail to antec and asked them when I could expect to start building my new HTPC. It´s coming to europe at the end of august:

"As of now, this model is due in Europe at the end of August. We apologize that there has been a few delays but we have also made what we think are improvements along the way.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Regards,

Scott"

btw: I´m curious about the improvements he is talking about.

What a pain, i'm amazed it's taken this long.

Still, i'm curious to see what they've done with it. :)
