replacing my P180, to what?

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

I am using scythe slips on my P182B and this machine is unaudiable... But I've made quite a lot modding. I had 6A19 myself. That was bit like SLK3000B in internal arrangement. Very good case I think.

I had a 6A19 case as well that I bought from Coolcases.com.
It came w/the front & rear grills already punched out as well as having a fan on the left & right side panel.
It was a very well constructed case, but i'd have preferred if the USB ports wasn't at the bottom of the front panel as my case is on the floor.
As a matter of fact, I still have it in storage...deciding what to do with it since I retired it for my P182B. :)

So basically what you're saying is your 6A19 is better at reducing the noise from the 3 hard drives.

Did you turn AAM on on those westy's? They usually come with AAM off by default.

AMM is one
this is how my old 6A19 looked like

Image

my planes for the new 6A19:
1. foam... acoustic foam... lots of it... a dynamat+foam mix
2. close the front with a new wood front panel
3. bottom 140 mm intake, i'm thinking of using all the space i have due to the matx to make a "duct" like tunnel where the 3 hdd would be suspended and make it a rear intake in which the fan will be in the front section of the floor/duct do it will suck the air over the 3 hdd into the case
4. grill removing...
5. suspended 140mm over the CPU & NB (israel is a hot place to live in)
6. still thinking...
