Decent ATX case for around $50?

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

Decent ATX case for around $50?

Post by paulsiu » Tue Dec 09, 2008 7:31 am

I have an ancient Athlon XP machine with a case that's literally falling apart. Despite being old, the computer is still quite a bit faster than the Atom processors they're selling these days. In any case, it gets the job done so I rather keep it for a while (and money is tight these days).

I was wondering if anyone have a recommendation for a case for roughly $50. I notice a good review for HEC 6XR8 and Antec 300 can often be found for around that price locally.

Oh, power supply is not needed. I am currently running a Seasonic on the current PC. I can reuse that.

I bought the Solo from Fry's a while back for $51 after shipping. Just watch for deals. If you're not an concerned about quieting your machine as the rest of us, I'm sure you can get a quality case from Antec or Cooler Master for even less.

Another plug for the Antec Solo. $49 at Fry's B&M, often close to that during an online special.
