FAH crisis!
We are currently in route to fall out of the top 20. permenently! General Mayhem is no longer on our overtake list, CustomPC will overtake us in ~78 days, and overclockers club will overtake us in ~218 days. If we can increase production just a couple of thousand points a day, then we will be able to overtake General Mayhem. If we could get our production up roughly 10,000ppd then we would be able to hold off overclockers club and keep our top 20 spot. If you haven't folded before or don't know what I'm talking about, now is the time to join the fight! Check it out:

just click download and install it and it will set it up for you. Make sure to fold for team 31574.

While this post was quite old. It is still very valid. I have just joined the team and have both of my machines folding 24/7. I decided to fold for Silent PC review becuase I have learnt allot from reading the posts and reviews on the site and this is sort of my way of paying a bit back, while helping a good cause at the same time.
Anyway, I'm off the topic.
Looking at the stat's we are going to drop from the top 20. I'm not knocking anyone here, just want to help. What I think we need is a bigger presence on the main page and more regular postings in the SPCR F@H section of the forum. There are many people who would be more than happy to fold for SPCR but just simply don't know it exists, or knows SPCR has a team.
Maybe there might even be an inscentive program somehow, such as if you are a forum member and you are ACTIVELY part of the folding team, then you get more site priverliges or something. I dont know...I'm just thinking out loud.
Also, How about a monthly (or even bi-monthly) e-mail newsletter to the members of the folding team. It may remind people who have stopped folding to start again and also they can pass on a "how-to" guide to other freinds.
Again, i'm not knocking anyone, I just want the SPCR team to do well. I think we need to be more proactive in our approach though.
Agree? Disagree? Ideas?

Good thinking, furious and I wish you the best of luck! More prominent coverage on the home page or a special status in the forums has been proposed before. However, the F@H team does not seem to be a priority for "the powers that be" at SPCR. Personally I think that's a pity, since besides serving a good cause, such a team could contribute more to building (and maintaining) the community here.
I know that people have left to other teams because things were too -silent- here. And I do understand that - folding profits most from long-term contributors, but folding alone is not very rewarding, at least not immediately. It's the little races and challenges on the way that keep it interesting over months or years - the team. Only, a silent team might as well not exist.
Oh well, at least things seem to go not too bad these days. We might actually manage to overtake Gen[M]ay this time

Things do get kind of silent around here. Not to long ago it was really "happening", macOSX was giving us a run for the money. They got some major press and have left us in the dust ever since.
We are not going to be able to double our productivity in time to fend off CustomPC but we should be able to overtake General[M]ayhem and re-take the bovines.
Folding is fun, I can do it in my sleep, with 2 hands tied behind my back!

Damn Good Call TRC-13 ,
I'll be adding a 'measly'(?) AMD1400 to the mix very soon... and KnightFallen has already 'upped the anti' ... (as he always does whenever I get close to catching him points wise... BAH HUMBUG!!! )...
Come... join the band of 'silent/damn quiet' enthusiasts that gives to science, mankind and fellow human beings ...
Or perhaps........... even to our relatives or selves..........
Come on... You know you can........
(Don't worry about unregistered, he's only allowed out on Sundays and Tuesdays......... provided he's been a really good boy... )
Pete
P.S. Any questions... don't hesitate to ask...

Back to the topic at hand....
It seems that although we are attracting a steady stream of new users to the team, they are coming at about the same rate as current users are leaving. I think that what really got the team kicking and probably what got me to join was when there was a lot of discussion about folding projects and how people were tuning their hardware for folding. Most notably David Hays' farm (whatever happened to him anyway?).
There have been several members who have really made an effort to keep the forums active since back in the "old days" but without a whole lot to talk about it seems to have just slowly petered out.
Anyway these are just my thoughts.
PS TRC-13 holy crap! more machines! Are they borgs or do you run em at home?

Whilst I am only new I do think we need to do something. If everyone just encouraged ONE family member or freind or even got their office to join it it would make a considerable difference.
I am going to try my own tact to get people folding again and lay down a challenge. I'll be starting a new thread so look for it!
