Glad you like 'em David Image

Glad to oblige Dave, David, and the rest of team SPCR. OK, I have just set up some space on our web servers for just this sort of thing so we can all spice up the SPCR forums a bit. And don't worry, we won't delete them so they'll be there indefinitely, that way the forums won't look funny later because of broken links. So here is how everyone can use the new smileys.

1.) This link is to a text file listing the names of the smileys, icons, emoticons, and other neat forum oriented graphics I have started collecting:

smileys.txt

2.) So, using the name of the file of the particular smiley you want, all you need to do is embed them inside the forum's standard braced img tags (without the single quotes of course) with using the hyperlink below with the smileys name tacked on at the tail end by the image name like this for the smiley named folding.gif:

If you did it right, it should end up looking like this:

Image

Also, I'll be adding more too as I come across them. In fact, we have plenty of server space and bandwidth, so if you guys want to email me more well done smileys, icons, smaller well made graphics and emoticons, (as long as we keep them reasonably within the bounds of good taste and common sense of course) by all means let's open them up for the whole team to use. And, since this is our webserver here at the company, we don't have to worry about anyone breaking the links either, so we can all feel secure in using them for the long term too.

Also, I'll keep the smileys.txt file (which lists the available graphics files) updated as I make more of them available online. So just check back to that link periodically and see if there are new ones to use.

No one is guilty of premature celebration. According to F@H stats at Stanford SPCR was #25 for a brief period of time :) Then Mac guys pulled away. Not for long

Hmm, is it hemorrhoids or brain tumors? Just joking guys. I've been wanting to use that insult for so long and couldn't resist the urge.

As far as being the lead dog goes, are you sure you just aren't running so that we can't show dominance over you? Your day will come! :P :P

Do you have those x-serve's on-line yet? ;)

I've pretty much had enough surprises for one day. Would it be an imposition to ask you to wait for a day or two? :(

OK, to heck with reviews and hardware testing -- all the lab's CPUs and boards have been thrown into the fray, my bank of machines is pulling at least a kw now. I think that makes a total of 9. So much for ecology, ey?

Oh, wait, I think I might have one more XP testbed floating about somewhere around the back... heheheheheh....

MikeC, you bring tears to my eyes, both from laughter and with hope.

I have an admission to make. I am one competitive son of a bitch. I try to be gracious in victory and defeat, but OH how I HATE TO LOOSE. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Nope, think bigger than XServes, think OpenSource and more. Think harmony, and people working together. Think of the possibilities! I don't know how much longer I can wait on the suprise, it has me all excited. :D
