Indeed, we maintain the slimmest of leads. Take a look at the last four days:

Code: Select all

 SPCR EOC
23,912 23,919
25,302 23,822
31,880 32,046
18,668 17,761
Our two team's production is running neck-and-neck.

Just when you think you have another team whooped, they come sneaking back!

Yup, I been watching that...they have more people than us though....:?

We have the most active team I think, and probably most ppd per member also.

I think of this team as a small powerhouse ;)

And it's not helping that our production has been going the wrong way ever since the machos passed us.

God, you're annoying. Although I suppose that's the point of all Mac users.. to be as pretentious and annoying as possible.. so I guess I should be congratulating you. :D

EOC are proving to be pesky buggars. Yeah, they have more members than us, but we've never used that as an excuse. And I don't intend to NEED an excuse.

No. That goes something like this.

Rickety, rickety ree! Kick 'em in the knee! Rickety, rickety rass! Kick 'em in the other knee! Image

Interesting that EOC is catching us, apparently by the number of users that they have; their top points producer is making 1,010 ppd which would only make him 6th on our team.

What the heck, it does't matter why, they're still catching us! Use these flags:

-borg

-forceSSE

-advmethods

-installonmom'scomputer!

Gloating is way over rated and pregloating is even more so. :)

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, femfolder. I would chat a little longer, but I'm really busy adjusting the colors on my monitor.

Oh, uhh, welcome to SPCR!

As one of the small folders, my 2 cents on improving our position: we should be trying to encourage the small folders to each get just one more PC folding. I managed to "recruit" a laptop and a Dell, and that's helped my scores tremendously.

If EOC outproduces us by as many points today as they did yesterday, they will re-overtake us TODAY!!!

Our production is on the decline (!), their's is increasing. They have done a rock steady 24K PPD four days in a row, while our production has fallen below 24K.

Time to bump the Folding@Home thread in the General forum again.

They've overtaken us...

Post by NeilBlanchard » Mon Apr 19, 2004 6:12 pm

Hello Team:

Well, for some reason, when we past the EOC team, they started folding a lot more -- and they have now past us again! I'm not sure why they waited to react to us, and let the Mac team pass them...

Just your friendly EOC Fem here to see if you felt the EOC breeze pass you by.
:)

Btw, the Mac team has 582 active folders, EOC has 208, so it wasn't exactly out choice to let them blow on by.
We'll just wait for their numbers to fall, and sneak back up on em.

Fold the good fight!
Sun Tzu said: The good fighters of old first put
themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for
an opportunity of defeating the enemy.
To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own
hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by
the enemy himself.
Thus the good fighter is able to secure himself against
defeat, but cannot make certain of defeating the enemy.
Hence the saying: One may KNOW how to conquer without
being able to DO it.
He wins his battles by making no mistakes. Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated.
Hence the skillful fighter puts himself into a position
which makes defeat impossible, and does not miss the moment for
defeating the enemy.
Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory.

It was Team MacOSX that awoke EOC. They really weren't paying attention and by the time they saw them coming, it was too late, but they also happened to notice that WE were going to pass them TOO, and they were able to react in time, or very nearly in time, to avoid being passed by us. It's no big deal. We just need to get busy before they get any kind of lead on us.
