When I first started folding I connected with your typical 56K land line. Bad enough how slow it was, it wasn't even a local call. That went on for a while. Then the connection quality diminished and the pc couldn't connect so it kept redialing. One month I came home and got a long distance bill for $200+ I quit folding for several years after that.

$200? Ouch! I don't even have a landline anymore, just cable internet at home. Even then, it's on the brink more than I would want (Charter in Rochester, MN = teh fail). So now I'm using several of my personal boxes at work where the connection is much more stable. The thing I have to worry about now is when the hospital turns off the a/c at night and the office door gets closed by housekeeping. Then they tend to overheat on occasion. I suppose I should be happy with Leed's certification for the new cancer center, but I'd rather have my own thermostat to control for my office. Output has still been more stable this way, though.

Thanks!
Nice to have a stable system. I left it running 24/7 while I was away for a week on thanksgiving break.
