nah, its only $10,000 without software.

But its got 25 gigaflops! 128 FPUs kind of owns AMD's 2. I don't know where they got double the 3 ghz P4 though, the P4 doesn't even come close! And thats not even counting the 64 non-fp ALUs!

And just imagine overclocking that thing.... at 3 watt power consumption, turning up the speed would be no problem at all. Imagine a 50% overclock, to about 38 gigaflops, thats as much as all my computers combined have, and they make like 3,500 pts/week! Without as much overhead and such......

Actually, AMD Athlons and Opterons have 3 FPU pipelines and IIRC they all have 6 "other" pipelines, as well.

Sure would make for a nice folding farm.

I wonder how quiet they are?

2, 3, whats the difference? Its pretty far from 128 regardless.

But still, it's my understanding, based on the 2001 super computing convention (I ditched school to visit it when it was in denver) that the athlon xps get 2 flops a cycle. If you can provide a source with the actual number that would be nice.

quite impressive. especailly for only 3 watts. Think about a super silent folding box.

Box? With 3W only you don't need a fan, not even heatsink - unless you are going to overclock it a little bit more
I bet that with Vcore 1.4 it can handle 350Mhz at least

The only drawback is, that there is not mainboard that support this nice one currently, im right?

...since if there are, there will be no-point of wasting money to building arrays of G5 or P4 machines, while these CS301 ones will kick their ass for much less bucks

Let's start optimizing F@H for CS301
