I resemble that remark.

I'm pleased to be back in the top 15 of folders for our team. I also note, with the new point system, that I may be back in the top 10 for points in a couple of months (sorry, Zhentar), and will theoretically pass Lockheed and mjrusso in three months. My threats are now all 9+ months out. I have a couple of Macs associated with our lab that I may be able to add, though I'd have to do a bit of arm twisting AND learn about these new-fangles Macs (!). Ahh, for the Lisa days....

Boy, NOW you're really dating yourself! I was working as a salesman for an Apple computer store when the Lisa was introduced. That was a l-o-n-g time ago! :D

What's most interesting to me is, with the exception of wgragg, these are all "old guys", guys that have been around for a long time, folding away quietly, not making a big deal out of their folding,..
Hey, I'm not that old! :)
Seriously though.. I haven;t changed a thing but I think it may have something to do with either:
1) new points system - I know I haven't bothered much to optimise my F@H clients (maybe a few.. but probably not) with -forceSSE and stuff.. not sure how the new points system would make me look better but maybe there is something I'm not seeing.
EDIT: I figured it out.. since I don't do -forceASM,SSE (or whatever it is) I don;t favour GROMACS.. and since some others deliberately dump tinkers my points used to be low.. now that tinkers are worth more then my hard work on the tinkers is getting more points
2) servers being down - I don;t know how common the servers being down is.. but I've seen it quite often - maybe we were just unlucky enough to have results queued for a server which was down and now suddenly they were delivered? dunno.
not giving me an "excuse" to mention their names here. :D
I'll give you an excuse.. didn;t want to make a big song and dance about it until I had my new toys delivered.. but soon.. very soon.. watch this space :)

PS It is kind of nice to get a mention :))

DonP, -forcesse does not effect which work units you get. -advmethods is the only flag that influences assignment of work.

-forcesse should ALWAYS be used on Athlon processors.

There is NO downside to using -forcesse on these cpus. FAH really should default to using SSE on these cpu's, but it doesn't, so -forcesse is required to enable it. It will speed the processing of Gramacs by a factor of 2. It will not effect Tinkers in any way, since the Tinker core does not use SSE.

Let's see, what's happened today or is on the verge of happening tomorrow...

wgragg is going to take over #6 from mas92264 within a day or two or three. This is particularly noteworthy because mas is SPCR's 3rd highest producer, i.e. not exactly the easiest target! Image
New members SThomas, Andy, DragonSlayer, and Sardaan have posted their first points for SPCR. Image

Lots of newish folders are making a splash (a splash of teal, that is) including AndrewC, mond, idealcrash, RedSnertz, MrRumble, DavidSteiner, quksilver, quietdragon, rmarotti, BubbaSlash, bidred, Fat_Bunny, and Xfinity.
AZBrandon is our lowest ranked Image folder, which means he has no threats, only conquests. He is up to #140.

sonofdbn is doing well, with a 24hr average of 269. He is at #125.

shens (aka isp) is making good on his threats/promises to rise quickly through our ranks. He is now averaging 600+ points per day, is "brown" on the EOC stats pages, and is already up to #117, and rising quickly. Image

1911user and Hortalonas are closing in on the Top 100, at #104 and #105 respectively.

genetomcat is "brown", with a 666 point daily average. tomcat is up to #81.

Equiquay is approaching the Top 50, presently at #53.
D_Bailey is very very close to turning Image. If it's gonna happen dude, I hope it happens quick, before Jason changes the cutoffs! Douglas is up to #27.

Overnight I have managed to do just that. Its barely a lead at the moment, but the change in British weather is allowing to keep most of my PCs up and folding. Just as long as they don't drown!

Nice to see so many new people on the team getting to the teal colour. Onwards and upwards. I wonder who's the next wgragg???

wgragg is going to take over #6 from mas92264 within a day or two or three.
wgragg has done a great job, really posting some big points on the board over the last few days. I think the only reason that I was staying close to him in production for a few days prior, is that I must of had a better combination of wu's than him.

Oh well, on to miker and lockheed. :)

Sorry.. yeah, I meant -advmethods :)
I think what I said makes sense.. since I didn;t favour gromacs, a had more tinkers.. tinkers are now worht more.. ergo I;m getting more points.

Congratulations, Hortalonus! I think I might make it to the team top 100 in about another month. If I'm kept out by newer, faster folders, so much the better! As long we overtake those Slacintosh users.....

I'll have to console myself with the point total, because my standing in the team is going to drop drastically over the next couple months as the four horsemen go storming past.

D_Bailey jumped 3 places yesterday, all the way up to #24

Buddabing has had three good days in a row. Looks like some new hardware to me. :D

genetomcat jumped 7 spots yesterday to #72. He's up 34 places on the week.

shen is up a whopping 55 places for the week, 6 yesterday, to #105. Looks like he could be #100 late today.

RedSnertz at #182 became "teal" yesterday.

And back to Black again.

Which I wouldn't mind too much... except Lockheed who 'doesn't fold for us any more' ... is teal.

No complaints about Lockheed's points for the team, it just seems ironic

Well done everyone, keep up the Damn good work. 8)

Don't feel bad about missing my 50K, since I missed it as well. It is good to be noticed, however.

I haven't really been paying attention to the milestones in general. I need to do better in that regard. 50K should not be one that passes without anyone noticing. That represents a HUGE contribution to the F@H project, regardless of how long it took to get there.

Jason has extended the Top 15 Producers list on the EOC Stats Team Summary page to 20.

This allows long time folders tragus and Frank_Condron, and newish members BMWBMW, Hortalonus, and shens to be recognized for their Top 20 status.

I'm having some hardware problems on my home LAN. So my production will be hit-and-miss and will be generally lower until they're resolved.

Does a computer that is not turned on count as silent?

I need faster computer. A lot of faster computers
