Before Christmas I built a new computer. Whenever I started a 3D game like Oblivion, there would be chirping noises, loudest in areas where the graphics were particularly intense. These noises would stop if I minimized to desktop, or while another area was loading. I listened with the side of my case off, and it seemed to be coming from the graphics card. The noise remained regardless of stopping any of the fans in my system.
Here were my components:
Intel q6600
Gigabyte DS3R
8800 GTS 640
Creative Labs Xtreme Gamer
Corsair 550VX PSU
and Crucial 2GB PC-6400 ram
Recently I stepped up to a different graphics card the 8800 GTS 512 and it is making a similar noise. I was hoping someone here might recognize it.
It's really quite annoying.
At my wit's end... chirping noise

Here is the OLD chirping noise from 8800 GTS 640:

Here is the NEW chirping/ticking from the 8800 GTS 512:

Edit: The above chirping noise is even happening when im in the Lineage II menu with all settings and screen resolutions at their minimum.
Edit2: I used a paper towel roll and it definitely sounds as if it's coming from the video card again... :[
Edit3: I can also hear this sound through my headphones when I plug it in through my front audio ports... would this indicate a problem with the motherboard?
