Fanless Playstation?
I just read an article rumoring that a Fanless PS3 might eventually become a reality (cool!).
The article mentioned that one of the PS2's is fanless. Anyone know which one?

The only slimline PS2 model I've ever seen features a tiny whiny fan which produces a pathetic amount of airflow. While it's not as loud as a jet engine, the noise is irritatingly high pitched.
The original "fat" PS2 features a much larger fan. The "fat" PS2 can be easily modified to take an undervolted 80mm fan. I modified my PS2 that way, and it's much quieter and more pleasant sounding than a slimline PS2.
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to quiet down the DVD drive mechanism.

im verry sorry - ive just taken apart my slimline ps2 to have a look and yes there is a shitty little 40mm radial fan in there directed at what might be the most useless cpu heatsink in the history of man - a tiny little bit of aluminium with about 8 fins on it, the whole thing only has a footprint of about 70mm * 20mm oh well you live and learn. sorry once again
