Monitor advice
Hi guys,
I want a new monitor, LCD monitor to replace my old 17" CRT and I don't know what to choose. Note that I want it for games, movies and text.
So I have 3 monitors in my head and I don't know what to choose between those. But if have any other ideea feel free to say but keep it into 20-22" and the price range of these 3 monitors.
So this are the monitors:

http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/mo ... l_id=56146
http://www.samsung.com/nl/products/moni ... /223bw.asp
I hope I post this in the right section.

I’m using the Samsung Syncmaster 226BW myself and apart from the viewing angle its ok, colours are nice and the sharpness isn’t to shabby either. Another one you could take a look at is the HP w2207H which has received some nice user reviews.
Note: my 226BW has the S panel, but this is not possible to check on the newer screens, they have even removed this feature in the service settings which was the last possible way to check it (as far as I know) perhaps if you dismantled the entire screen you could see what panel it is, but hey; that should not be necessary and would also void your guarantee.

If I can know for sure I will get an S panel than I would go for 226BW but the chance to get a S panel is 33,33%. So I could receive an A panel which is awful or C panel which is not good either. As for HP w2207H, it can't be found in my country so is not an option for me.walle wrote:I’m using the Samsung Syncmaster 226BW myself and apart from the viewing angle its ok, colours are nice and the sharpness isn’t to shabby either. Be sure to buy it from a place with a return policy (unless you get a chance to see it in action in a store).
I made a grave error in buying blindly a 17" Samsung (710T) based on reviews only. It was supposed to be outstanding for it's time, and the picture quality was great - only that it was very straining on the eyes for some unknown reason.
I replaced it with a refurbished 19" panel which I bough without doing any research, and I couldn't really be happier with it.

This has been handled poorly by Samsung from day one, it’s a real pity and to be honest (minor rant here) it makes me somewhat pissed really. That aside; what country do you reside in if you don’t mind me asking?)UnknowNick wrote:If I can know for sure I will get an S panel than I would go for 226BW but the chance to get a S panel is 33,33%. Not a bad idea, but note that the “surgical lightsâ€UnknowNick wrote:I may go to a showroom to see some models before I choose one

Ok, was asking cause it’s easier to help out or recommend products when you now the location. Unfortunately I’ve not been able to find a Romanian online retailer, so I have no clue to what brands you have access too.UnknowNick wrote:I'm from Romania.walle wrote:That aside; what country do you reside in if you don’t mind me asking?)

Since you are OK with a TN, this is probably the best 22" TN you can buy, a bit expensive but cheaper than the Samsung 226CW:

I asked a friend of mine to get one at his workplace, but that won't happen very soon. BTW the contrast can't be 10000:1, but should be good.
If you get this LG 227WT, please report back on image quality and sound (if it buzzes or not, many Samsungs do buzz).

I am OK with TN because I don't have enough money for a 20" *VA monitor or IPSTzupy wrote:Since you are OK with a TN, this is probably the best 22" TN you can buy, a bit expensive but cheaper than the Samsung 226CW:

After some research and a budget increase I think I will gor for a P-MVA or S-IPS and I have 3 nominee:
Asus PW201 - 20" P-MVA panel made by AUO

Acer Ferrari F-20 - 20" P-MVA panel made by AUO

Dell 2007WFP - 20" S-IPS panel made by LG.Philips

All of them have ~ the same price so I would like to know which is the best from those. Thanks
