Silent Rapid Storage Technology, not compatible with my pc?

Post by RaptorZX3 » Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:03 pm

ok here's the situation.

Since i have this new PC, i thought i would try installing the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" drivers for SATA hard disks. But then it didn't want to install, saying my board doesn't meet the requirements.

Then i downloaded the latest "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers, the new name for the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager". It says the same thing.

I asked Intel by email and the support told me it is compatible with my main board. (look at my signature for my PC specs)

Now i'm wondering...are these drivers can only be installed if you've set your SATA ports in RAID or AHCI mode? Because right now i've set it to IDE mode, which is fine for me right now.
